TeK September 23, 2004 Share TeK Member September 23, 2004 Supposed American remake of one of the scariest movies Japan as ever seen. Japan name is "JU-ON" and will scare you regardless if you have never been scared by scary movies. http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/thegrudge/site/flash/ Sorry if this is a repost I didn't see a topic made about it =D I'm not seeing it but any of you people who are into scary movies, try checking out the japanese JUON movie(Believe its been out for a while so an import wouldn't be too hard to find). Dennis September 23, 2004 Share Dennis Member September 23, 2004 Tek here is a link to the trailer you tell me if you think its scary....the movie def gave me chills http://movies.go.com/movies/J/ju-on-the-gr...2004/index.html here are 2 sites you can get movies from: http://us.yesasia.com/en/index.aspx http://www.animetoxic.com/ now one thing you need to know is region codes. most likely your dvd player will only play american dvds which is a region code 1. asian films are region code 2 and 3. some of the sites offer region code 0 which will play on any dvd player. another thing most of these movies will be subtitle only so i hope you dont mind reading. you can also do mods to your dvd player that will let them play all forms of dvds or you can buy one that does, there are sites out there that can give you more info on that. TeK September 29, 2004 Author Share TeK Member September 29, 2004 I've been reading that a lot of people think the American version is going to be much scarier than the Japanese. To quote a post from another person on some other forums. i actually agree with cloud9xtc a lot. i seen the japanese version and it wasn't that scary. i was mostly confused. the story is very broken up and the flow of the movie was seriously distracting the errieness. i spend more time trying to figure what's going on than being scared. i think the american version will be scarier due to better special effects, re-written script that follows the original yet has better flow, better pace for today's audience, and not to mention, sarah michelle gellar. of course im also one of those that thought the american version of The Ring is at leat 20x better than the japanese version.
