Lunk November 21, 2004 Share Lunk Member November 21, 2004 Can I mix PC3200 Ram with PC2700 Ram? I currently have 1gb of PC2700 in 3 sticks. 2 x 256 and 1x 512. What I want to do is replace the 2 256 sticks with 2 512 sticks. And total out at 1.5 gb or RAM.
Guest zerodamage November 21, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests November 21, 2004 You should be able to but keep in mind that the Pc3200 will run at the slower PC2700 speed.

All Kill3r November 22, 2004 Share All Kill3r Member November 22, 2004 good idea, if they are all the same speed on a single channel board bad idea, if it's a dual channel board bad idea, if the mem speeds are different
Lunk November 22, 2004 Author Share Lunk Member November 22, 2004 I've got a dual channel board with my 2 x 256 & 1 x 512. I've got the 256 sticks utilizing the dual channel slots. And they are all PC2700 sticks. And I've had no real issues. An occassional restart. But, I'm not tottally convinced that that is due to the ram. Guest zerodamage November 22, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests November 22, 2004 To find out if it is your RAM, run Memtest86 for like 20 mins to see if you get any errors. (Do a good search for it and you will find the site).
