appalachian_fox December 6, 2004 Share appalachian_fox Member December 6, 2004 (edited) OK, This is a poll without the poll feature --PCIe 128MB ATI FireGL V3100 --PCIe 128MB nVidia Quadro FX 1300 at +$380 compared to ATI card above. Thoughts? We're looking at putting these in some new desktops. The prices are fixed, we are not bargain shopping...Which would you guys go with? Reasons? I know what I would do, but that's based on price. I don't really know the features differences, except the nVidia card has dual DVI, which we won't be using...DVI+VGA at best, which the ATI card supports. Any advice as to which one is better is greatly appreciated! BTW, both are 16x, am I correct in assuming that is the standard pipeline aggregation for PCIe video cards right now? Oh, update: I almost forgot to mention that these computers are used in a graphics-intensive environment with huge images at 12-bit color depth and above. No video games, though. Penty December 6, 2004 Share Penty Member December 6, 2004 At that level your choice should be aplication dependent. Find out what the primary app is then go to their website to find out what card(s) they recomend.
appalachian_fox December 6, 2004 Author Share appalachian_fox Member December 6, 2004 Heh, would that it could be that easy. There's nothing to go on. Based on what I saw, I don't need the beefed-up features on the nVidia, which is basically faster memory access bandwidth.
