appalachian_fox December 7, 2004 Share appalachian_fox Member December 7, 2004 I'm at an impasse with IE in the office. One of our computers, when started up, runs on the internet just fine for about 5-10 minutes. Then, it stops working. Sometimes it stops sooner if the user is multitasking. I don't know how long its been going on or what software has been installed in the meantime (I'm never told about problems when they start). I've checked for virii, defragged, scandisked, ran scans for adware...I'm not quite sure what's going on. Network-wise it is fine: Holds IP, can push traffic, yadda yadda. Just web browsing that doesn't work. My solution is to install Firefox and see if that works, which I think it will. However, that doesn't solve my main problem, IE still doesn't work. Has anybody experienced something similar? Is there a solution short of formatting? I don't mind switching people to Firefox (if we get a lab upgrade, I would like to mandate it) but I would like to fix the problem as well. Ruff_Ryder December 7, 2004 Share Ruff_Ryder Member December 7, 2004 I was using IE6 and while I would be surfing it would show a critical error and shut down, I switched to Firefox and all problems stopped.
