Playaa January 14, 2003 Share Playaa Member January 14, 2003 alright, I've fixed my former problem with Mup.sys (it was my ram) and now I have 128meg SDRam chip in my computer. ANY game that I play now will lockup the system. Even games that should run fine on 128megs of ram. I'm going to get the latest nVidia drivers for my video card but is there any other reason it would lock up (only in games)?
[Mmmm]Homer January 14, 2003 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member January 14, 2003 Hmmm, I'd say it was your RAM. No, the new RAM.
Playaa January 14, 2003 Author Share Playaa Member January 14, 2003 ok but that isn't really valid....cause it won't even run counter-strike in Software mode without lockin up. And I've run CS on a system with a TNT2 and 64mb of ram....alot worse system than this one even with 128mb ram... I'm really hoping I didn't screw my video card up when working on the ram
[Mmmm]Homer January 14, 2003 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member January 14, 2003 No, I'm suggesting that this particular stick of 128mb you currently have in your PC is flawed. Hence software mode won't work either. If you've had alot of errors the last few days with all these lockups, etc. you might want to do a fresh install of Windows in case some core files were corrupted. [Mmmm]Homer January 14, 2003 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member January 14, 2003 Maybe your Wiindows install is corrupted then? Reinstall.

Guest ZDamage January 14, 2003 Share Guest ZDamage Guests January 14, 2003 may be cpu over heating. Check your CPU temp. Make sure the fan is spinning and the heat sink isn't junked up with dust.
