mrX December 27, 2005 Share mrX GC Alumni December 27, 2005 With Christmas and all, I got the server set up and kinda just disappeared. I set the server at 16 b/c I saw that the dev team limited each map to that many players. This week I can get back at it tho and concentrate on this a bit, if needed. First, I checked a couple times and each time the server was on ge_caves. That seemed odd. Is the server switching maps at 20 mins? Second, the player size per server. I've browsed thru the other topics and noticed suggestions for 10 players/server. Would 10 per and 2 servers be best, or 7/8 and 3 servers be best? I believe we can run 2, maybe 3, servers without taxing ante too bad. Just wanna have the fun factor up to draw people in. Other ideas here for those who've played would be appreciated. mrX December 27, 2005 Author Share mrX GC Alumni December 27, 2005 I've got some bandwidth to burn on my website. So, 20-30 people can download this from there at: GE:S Download
mookie December 27, 2005 Share mookie GC Alumni December 27, 2005 It is switching maps, it must just be luck that you keep seeing it on Caves. So far it's hard to say whether 10 or 8 or some other number would be best.
mrX December 28, 2005 Author Share mrX GC Alumni December 28, 2005 I've split the server into 2 8 man servers, different ports. 27015 & 27016. Both are identical.
Rashad December 28, 2005 Share Rashad Member December 28, 2005 cool. Seems like the first day of release, people swamped any server they could get on. Now, it seems the servers are (in general) less full. If the GE:S people want to keep the mod alive, they better release new maps and weps soon.
