Kaanin January 16, 2006 Share Kaanin Member January 16, 2006 (edited) Hope this hasnt been posted before I found this great column on CS:S Netcoding. It will really help you understand the behind the scenes of counterstrike with lag and such. Things you will learn. > How to make shots register more often. > Why you shot that guy 15 times, but only 2 of them did damage. > How you got shot from behind that wall corner. > How to tell if you truly hit someone The column can be found HERE! Also theres a FAR less indepth video(hint hint dont just watch the video, READ THE COLUMN) which goes to back this information, It shows the player shooting the servers version of the players hitboxes and missing, and then shooting the player he sees and getting the hits, this because of the lag compensation. Video Here. He also has some other great guides, this guy is a guide MACHINE! Here are the linkz. General weapons guide Weapons Spray Patterns Guide (Usefull!) M3(Pump shotty) Guide AK47Guide (Helped me) Hes got some other guide but I find these ones to be the most usefull. A new player would find his other ones though quite usefull. Laz.e.rus January 16, 2006 Share Laz.e.rus Member January 16, 2006 (edited) gj kaanin. dont put too much into that movie. Its another example of people thinking they have it all figured out, then being wrong. Notice he has to hit the actual model to kill the guy? Not the boxes? Basically, he's showing lag, and how well source predicted his hits. And, he did. Without the prediction, you would actually have to lead your opponet ( like old Quake3 if you guys remember that...b4 the unlagged mod came out). You had to lead by an amount you guessed at based on your ping. Edited January 16, 2006 by Laz.e.rus
Kaanin January 16, 2006 Author Share Kaanin Member January 16, 2006 Well the movie wasnt my main point, my main point was the column, the movie is only backing what the column said.
