ncc April 10, 2006 Share ncc Member April 10, 2006 Hey all, one of the reasons I haven't been frequenting the forums in the past year or so is because irl I've been going to a lot of anime conventions and staffing a few of them. For those who don't know, anime = japanimation = japanese animation. A lot of the anime conventions not only include nonstop showings of different new and old anime movies and shows, but also have events such as a costume contest, a dance, and sometimes a performance from a musical guest. People who work in the industry in the U.S. such as voice actors and directors will come and speak about their experiences and sign autographs as well. Another aspect of anime cons is that they are generally family-friendly, so if you have a kid who is into Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh, or loves the anime that is shown on Cartoon Network, this could be a lot of fun. About 80% of the people who attend anime cons dress up in the costume of their favorite characters for the duration of the weekend, and it's a lot of fun to see all the great costumes. Checkout our website if you're still curious about this! for those "Otaku" amongst GC, here is the info: Matsuricon April 20-23rd, 2006 Columbus , OH here's a link to the website for hotel info and more I am running the Video Department of Matsuricon, so I will be there over the whole weekend keeping the video rooms up and running. Please stop and see me if you come!

Goofus Maximus April 10, 2006 Share Goofus Maximus Member April 10, 2006 Being a MegaTokyo fan, does that make me an Otaku-by-Proxy? One of my main addictions is an overly huge web-comic/manga list in my bookmarks, with new, newest, comics, favorite comics, and infrequently updated comics. All the folders are overflowing!
