Guest ash- July 3, 2006 Share Guest ash- Guests July 3, 2006 (edited) Anyone know any good software to make mp3's 5.1 capable? Are you talking about creating or listening? Either way you can't make real 5.1 surround unless the source is surround sound. Not only that but plain ole mp3s don't support anything other than stereo. AAC and OGGs support surround sound. There's also a new version of the mp3 codec that supports surround sound: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3_Surround If you have a creative card then you can enable CMSS to upmix the sound. You can't get true 5.1 surround sound if the source is only stereo but atleast you can make use of all your speakers. Look for any plugins for your preferred media player that "upmix" sound.
