Xoul December 12, 2006 Share Xoul Member December 12, 2006 Alright... So I've been getting this message from 10-30 minutes every time I play. I recently had to reinstall windows, but I played CS:S on the new install with no problems. A day or so later I started getting disconnected. Here is what I've already tried. Resting the modem.(unplugged for 30 minutes) There is no router hooked up. Windows firewall is turned off. Start<Run<Msconfig< unchecked Process system.ini, win.ini. Reinstall STEAM. Ran steam programs that check for connectivity(shows it was fine) Updated all drivers. deleted ClientRegistry.blob Reinstalled nic drivers for my onboard nic. Talked to my ISP who says(There are currently no problems in the northeast ohio area) Ran www.speedguide.net/analyizer Does this happen to anyone else? And if so did you find a solution? Xoul December 12, 2006 Author Share Xoul Member December 12, 2006 Check cl_timeout? Yeah, I did. CL_TIMEOUT 0 and 60, and 99999. I also get the "Disconnected Could Not Make A Connection To VAC Servers."
Vovik December 15, 2006 Share Vovik Member December 15, 2006 not sure if you figured it out yet, but i sometimes get the same stuff. all you need to do is restart steam. i think i told you that when we were playing and that was happening to you, just not sure if you caught it. Xoul December 16, 2006 Author Share Xoul Member December 16, 2006 I think i fixed it. I never had a legal copy of windows... but when I installed this new copy i bought, it was the latest version of windows... it had all the updates included. Well, even if you disable windows firewall, it would still block ports. So I had to individually input all the ports to unblock, to fix it. I only got to test it for 20 minutes, but it didn't disconnect... and with the power outages I can't do a full hour test.
