Metallurgic September 3, 2007 Share Metallurgic Member September 3, 2007 Nice tips, I just installed Gutsy tribe 5 Kubuntu on two of my systems, and unfortunately I haven't found an automatix version that works with it. Despite that, everything works great anyway.

Metallurgic September 4, 2007 Share Metallurgic Member September 4, 2007 I really prefer the K desktop and the Adept Manager to install applications, works very well for me since I am a total linux noob at the moment.
ZeroDamage September 4, 2007 Author Share ZeroDamage Member September 4, 2007 I really prefer the K desktop and the Adept Manager to install applications, works very well for me since I am a total linux noob at the moment. The EasyUbuntu and Automatix "programs" are there to do quick and painless installs of stuff you may need. The codecs needed to play WMV files are not there by default nor is the TrueCrypt program and the 3rd party program that gives it a GUI interface. They are there to help and have made things pretty easy for me. Now only if I could get VMWare server to install and accept the serial number. Keeps telling me it is invalid. Metallurgic September 4, 2007 Share Metallurgic Member September 4, 2007 Yeah automatix is really nice, I used it a month ago while playing around with Ubuntu, maybe I'll find a compatible version.
