NOFX September 24, 2007 Share NOFX Member September 24, 2007 So I realized my problem with my SATA data drive. It got completely erased somehow. Being the lazy slacker I am, I did not disconnect my data drive when I did my latest install of XP. I fear I may have did a full format, rather than just remove the partition tables, but if I didn't... does anyone know of any good free software that will allow me to restore partition tables? I did a few searches on google, but nothing extensive to find anything. Does partition magic have some sort of feature like this built in?
JordanRinke September 24, 2007 Share JordanRinke Member September 24, 2007 If you are not in a hurry I will grab a copy of the drive recovery software we use at work tomorrow and send you a link to a download for it tomorrow night. My guess though, unless all of your data was in a partition outside the range of the installed data currently... you won't be able to recover anything. Do not Check Disk or Defrag in the mean time, use it as little as possible. Unfortunately most systems do not write from the spindle out, so ever file you write, could be destroying data.
