Bush June 24, 2009 Share Bush Member June 24, 2009 A friend of mine has a sanyo pro 700 cell phone that he wants to hook up to his laptop via usb to charge. The problem is, is that vista recongnizes it as a external modem and won't charge, he not going to use it as an external modem. While plugging it in an XP machine it doesn't look for the external modem driver and charges. I've tried everything I could think of and couldn't get it to work on vista. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it. Thanks, Bush
anonymo June 24, 2009 Share anonymo Member June 24, 2009 I'm pretty sure you can tell Vista what to do when the device is attached...just can't think of it off the top of my head. Also another thought, is the XP machine a completely different machine? I know some laptops don't provide power to all USB ports (or you can determine which ones do) so it might be that the port he's attaching it to isn't setup to send power. This is usually a BIOS thing.
