I needed something for use when I travel because my work machine does not have a decent video card in it (what's with the crap intel stuff in every machine). I also wanted a machine that I could use upstairs in my house; it was quite annoying that I had to walk all the way down to the basement to my office to use the computer. I really needed something for upstairs use as well and I figured I may as well spend a little more for something that could be used for gaming if I traveled. It's a really good deal to boot.
