Locust May 7, 2014 Share Locust Member May 7, 2014 (edited) STEAM_1:0:93914 I switched teams when it was 10v8 to balance it out and because I don't like playing with someone that was on that team. I was then forcibly moved back at which point i stated that I was evening the teams and do not like playing with said person. I was then moved to spectate so I left the server to play on the other one and now I'm banned. There is no valid reason to ban me for that. I have the right to leave the server if I choose to and there is nothing in the rules that says I have to play on someone's team if I don't enjoy playing with them. We loaded into Dead Air first map the teams scrambled, you then switched teams right after, I switched you back, to which you said "I don't want to play on a team with you", and you switched again, I began the process to move you back when you stated over mic "I don't want to play with you its 10v8, Go ahead and abuse your admin powers". Kinda of looks alot different when you put the real story out there. Secondly this is not the first occasion that you have swapped teams, and stated that you disliked playing with me, so I spoke with San on the incident and he said to ban you for a day the next time it happened, this was the next time. I will say this, I don't know you, I have zero clue who you are, or why you even have a hatred or dislike for me. That being said, we all play with people we dislike or may not get along with, or we can choose to leave, but leave in silence, not with inappropriate comments, or being disrespectful, or breaking the server rules which while you say nothing in the rules says you have to play on someone's team you don't enjoy, it does say you Can Not Team Switch. If I don't want to play on your team then I have the right to leave the server if you won't amicably let me play on the other team. You have also repeatedly attempted to add me as a friend on Steam to which I have rejected multiple times. I would appreciate it if you would stop doing this as I have no desire to be friends with you on steam. I also do not appreciate you messaging people on my friends list to talk to them about me. If I don't want to play with you and don't want to have a conversation with you that is my right. There is also NOTHING disrespectful about saying I don't want to play on your team and leaving the server to play elsewhere. Banning someone after they've left because they don't want to play with you is both disrespectful and abusive of your powers. None of my comments were in any way inappropriate. I did not swear or get angry. You have taken a simple situation and escalated it to the point where it now needs to be made public on this forum. I banned you because you said "Go ahead an abuse your admin powers" That is disrespectful and uncalled for because I was moving you back after you switched. I had zero clue it was 10v8 when you swapped, and even then I wouldn't have let you switch. We would of either waited for the spec to join, or I would of asked if someone would of switched. I would never ban someone because they leave the server, I never have and never will. I tried adding you to find out why you, this person I know zero about, is making comments about me to other members, while I'm in game, and playing telephone with them to tell me, in-game mind you, "Oh he doesn't want to play with you, he said you are annoying, and abusive admin". So I reached out to one of our mutual friends to find out if you would be willing to have a conversation to explain this issue, before it escalates to something that gets you banned. Which now it has. If you don't want to play on my team, that's fine, you can leave, or you can stay and just not talk to me, what you CAN NOT do is: Switch teams or be disrespectful. Locust: If I were chick I would feel horrible about people not wanting to play with me. Chick sacrifices her time to make sure the servers are running to GC standards and we owe her gratitude. Which by the way, gc standards are: Respect others by * not deriding other players for their shortcomings * not whining about other players' success or your own failure * not insulting others Be polite by * not using foul language or pornography * not making racist, sexist, or otherwise bigoted comments * not intentionally disrupting gameplay Show sportsmanship by * being gracious as a winner and as a loser * making an effort to help your team win * not exploiting weaknesses in the game to your advantage Keep your screen names in line with the above. We'll let a little innuendo slide, sometimes, but generally we'd rather you'd keep it classy. Basically? Are you being a dick? If yes, then stop. If no, good job! I bolded and underlined the ones you broke to make it easier for you. What the heck is with this attitude? Like, I joke around with people sometimes and we talk crap to eachother... but accusing an admin of abusing their power? That's straight disrespectful, I review all complaints sent to gc and spend hours (my time) making sure admins are doing their job and the servers are running fine. I have not seen one thing that suggests she is abusing her power. Sure, toes are stepped on, but thats nothing compared to your attitude towards her. You have taken a simple situation and escalated it to the point where it now needs to be made public on this forum. In a community this size there is almost no way for every single person to like one another. That being said, this ban is not negotiable. Come back in a day. If you land on Chick's team, you'll live. It won't be the end of the world. Chick represents GC the same way crasx and myself do. I wouldn't tolerate that kind of attitude towards me either.
