Banned for stating an opinion, without warning

My name is Iron Hunny and my Steam ID is STEAM_0:1:40428494. At around 2:20am CST on the L4D2 server, an admin (Meng.mc.admin) banned another player for starting the carousel event (Dark Carnival) and finishing it even though he ran back and helped out the team. Then when most of the team was nearing the end and could see the Love Tunnel entrance, he was kicked for going inside and getting ammo so he could still help out. The admin kicked him and he shortly returned and was trying to state his case to which the admin banned him instead of listening. A couple of people, including myself saw that it seemed like an abuse of power and I simply wrote in the chat, "Bad Admin is bad". Then I was banned by Meng.mc.admin .

I hadn't said anything previously to warrant such a ban and had not broken any rules thus far on the server. I merely stated my opinion and was subsequently banned for it.

I believe wholeheartedly that the admin was abusing his powers and I felt it was needed to say that "He was bad." If that is in the wrong to state an opinion, then it should be made clearly to me so I can reply back "Okay. I'm sorry. I won't say that next time." instead of just banning and saying you'll change the ban description later and not even warning the person you were going to ban.

Overall, this has shed a negative light for me on these servers that while fun, has admins that seemingly will just ban/kick people for whatever reason they see fit. An infected/witch could scare someone away from the group, and the admin will ban that person for "not being a team player". If someone wants to explain why they did something the admin claims is wrong, the admin just kicks/bans them. If you state an opinion of a situation that happens, you are banned. As an admin on a TF2 server who has to show proof that the person is in the wrong, whether it's hacking, racial slurs, obsessive cursing or harassment, I find it appalling that this is accepted and okay.

Iron, I have never heard a more absurd story than that.   

 

And to think you can write anything negative on our community servers about admins (And you claim you area tft server admin) especially what you wrote, will not be tolerated.

 

Like Mercman said, you and your buddies are/were trolling.

 

Your ban is for 1 day from the incident.  This allows for you to sit back and reflect what you did.  And hopefully you wont do it again.

Your friend had a previous ban for rushing as well.  Our admins are required to enforce our rules.  Our rules are listed on our website, as well as in our server.  It sounds like he broke several of them.  Rushing is not allowed.  Disrespectful behavior is not allowed.  Arguing with the admin or another player is not allowed. 

 

In the future, if you feel an admin has unfairly treated you or someone else, please contact me, with proof (demo preferably, or screenshots or multiple witnesses of the situation).  If you do not understand our rules, after reading them on this website, feel free to contact me.
