Fatty December 27, 2003 Share Fatty GC Founder December 27, 2003 Now I need some audio editing software. Any suggestions? For example, there's a song I have on CD that I wanted to use as the menu background music for a family Christmas dvd...but my prog didn't recognzie .cda extensions. So, for the future, I'd like to have a converter and perhaps an editor to splice, etc. Suggestions?

dwEEziL December 27, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member December 27, 2003 Fatty, .cda is just the cd shortcut extension for the .wav file of the audio track on your CD. I would use CDex (awesome and free) to rip the CD (or just the track) to a .wav or .mp3 file and then use something like Cool Edit (which Adobe just bought) if you want just a portion of the track.
