well, ive ordered everything except my new monitor

ive taken the advice of the forums and decided on a crt

im gonna try to nab a +21" monitor on ebay

but im having a hard time

one thing that keeps bothering me is this:

if the discription say "true flat" or "perfect flat" tube

does that refer to the front part of the monitor?

cause the one i got is 22" and the screen is almost flat

but not quite there, are these the same thing -- tube vs screen?

am i being dumb?

Well, one thing is for sure. I am trying to nab one too off of ebay. I had a 22" Compaq perfect flat for 60 bucks brand new. The other thing is they kill you with the shipping. He wanted 75 bucks for shipping.

Im thinking true and perfect are nothing more than marketing terms.

If its got a flat screen thats what you want.

get nothing smaller then 19".

MAke sure its a brand name, has some warrenty(prolly wont though), and is aperture grill.

Check and see if itll run 1600x1200 at 85Hz of refresh cause if it can then you got yourself a nice gaming monitor.

True Flat and Perfect Flat are more than likely the same thing. Regular CRTs usually have a slight curve to the front of the screen. The True/Perfect Flat CRTs screen fronts have no curvature. The Sony Trinitrons (I believe that Dell is a relabled Trinitron) are flat screened CRTs.
