Tosh March 23, 2004 Share Tosh Member March 23, 2004 okie dokie 2 part topic....starting with the problem. I've always played CS on this computer and always usually used a mic. always werked perfectly. I had an old mic..and i tried it out and when i talk in game...like if i hold on to the voice comm. button if i say like "hi" it'll keep sayin "HI HI HI HI HIH I HI" and gets louder and louder...like it's really messed up...i got the new mic and it still problem is still there. I have the mic on my other comp right now and it werx perfectly for CS. I've tested hardware and everything and it works fine...when i test mic in steam it'll do the same thing it'll echo like crazy and it picks up on every little sound...like say i want to say something at the start of the round and ur buying items...it'll pick up on the sounds of the items being eipped and echo it like crazy! the weird thing is it echoes the stuff w/o a mic plugged in....either my computer is possesed...or my sound card is messed up...but all my sounds work perfectly....any ideas? anything would be nice ...and for my question.......since Condistion zero is out are ya'll goin to switch over to that and dtich the old cs? just wonderin so i know if i have to dish out some dogh thanx again guys! byye
bullet-401 March 23, 2004 Share bullet-401 Member March 23, 2004 (edited) Try turning down "what you hear" in your sound options. See if that works. Edited March 23, 2004 by bullet-
linch March 23, 2004 Share linch Member March 23, 2004 Off the top of my head the only couple things I can think of Tosh are: - Your mic settings may be set to "Mic boost *20dB", or when you enter CS it might be getting enabled on its own (which I heard someoen the other day say it had happened to them.... think it was Wanted. If the mic boost is off before you go in game, once you get in alt-tab out and check again. - Their is a feature to test your mic something _loopback 1, could that be turned on? - You have your Microphone sound set way to high (both in windows and CS?)? I keep my windows almost at the very bottom so I dont get a echo affect. I keep the cs send about 3/4 the way. Check those out and see.
