  3. I'm not quiet sure the part about Personal Experience with people saying you have to believe Christ died for your sins and then telling you you'll go to hell for it...kinda got lost.. But if you truly accept Christ as your personal savior then yes you are a christian..if not then you are a good man with a "planted seed" that will hopefully take root.
  4. not the svc_bad thing again ARGH!!!! darn the old bugs coming back. I had that error almost litterally 80 % of the time i tried to join while 1.4 was being run. I never found out what it was but I doubt it's a referance to an "illegal config" because at that time my config was standard straight out-of-the-box. ahh well. Good luck Orb I can't help ya just thought I'd confuse the issue a little bit
  5. Love the sinner hate the sin. A simple sentence a complex idea. That's the answer. Ponder it and you'll eventually see the truth of it.
  6. I think Hambone watched a little too much Mr. Wizard as a kid. The question isn't "Must the ball be a Sphere, or a cube?" The question is can it be seen as two different things. Can I see it as a Sphere and you see it a a Cube. The simplist answer is often the correct answer. In this case both are correct. The answer is.........YES. Perception is what we perceive it to be. I may look at this object and say "Sphere" you may look at it and say "Cube." Either way we're both right, and we're both wrong. What one person assumes to be true may be wrong to someone else. I've been doing too much Philosophy homework lately so I'm trying to stay away from writing a thesis paper on this so I'll just stop now with this half-complete answer. Hmm I guess I'm not done. How do we even know that the object exists. Is there really such a thing that we refer to as matter, or are we all just a matterless conciousness floating around in a realm of emptyness creating around us what we wish was there and reacting to the actions of other conciousnesses. What that says, for those of you that don't quite follow is simply this. Are we just beings that create for ourselves a world and then react to other beings worlds as we make contact with them. Is what we believe we perceive as life really just an image we subconsiously created because we ultimately refuse to believe that there is nothing but ourselves. There now I'm done.
  7. The learning process never ends Orbital, it just stalls. Try again and I'm sure more answers will be provided.
  8. Dyresville, Iowa. Approximately 45 minutes north and slightly west of Davenport , Iowa is home to The Field of Dreams. And yes, it does exist.

  11. WARNING LONG POST!!!! To answer the question of "Why, when god created only one man and one woman, would incest not run rampant?" Genesis 5 From Adam to Noah 1 This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. [1] " 3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died. 6 When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father [2] of Enosh. 7 And after he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. 8 Altogether, Seth lived 912 years, and then he died. 9 When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan. 10 And after he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. 11 Altogether, Enosh lived 905 years, and then he died. 12 When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel. 13 And after he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. 14 Altogether, Kenan lived 910 years, and then he died. 15 When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared. 16 And after he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. 17 Altogether, Mahalalel lived 895 years, and then he died. 18 When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch. 19 And after he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 20 Altogether, Jared lived 962 years, and then he died. 21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. 25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech. 26 And after he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. 27 Altogether, Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died. 28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. 29 He named him Noah [3] and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed." 30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. 31 Altogether, Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died. 32 After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth. ************************************** Notice how there is no mention of men marrying the daughters of man...they just become fathers. ************************************** Genesis 6 The Flood 1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with [1] man forever, for he is mortal [2] ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years." 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. ************************************* Ahh, so they didn't have children with the daughters of men. Well then, that answers the question of whether it was reproduction by mass incest...but where then did all the women come from that gave birth to these children. Alas, I have no answer but to speculate that god presented them much like he presented Eve.
  12. I can't believe such a "knowledgeable" scientist as you has never heard of the compound 03, hambone. Oxygen in a more pure form.....one of the greatest discoveries of recent history that offers an explanation that support the Bible and yet somehow you miss it. How odd...
  13. Tell ya what MC, I'll vote for you if you vote for me
  14. No, Dallas isn't the worst. My team is the worst. The Vikings are TERRIBLE!!! Go VIKES!!!!
  15. Ok, here we go. I am going to attempt to answer your question on the soul Hombone. Most of the posts since your orignal question have been exceptionally long and I tried to read them but the length eventually took it's tool. So if I say something that has already been stated forgive the repetition. In my own beliefe the soul isn't something visible, or even comprehendable. To define the soul is like trying to explain why 1 + 1 = 2. It just does. Every relegion has their own beliefe about the soul. Some believe the soul exists before life and has a pre-determined destiny. Others would believe the soul is eternal and continues to live in another life after it's body has died. Whether that be through re-incarnation or a Judeo-Christian view of a literal After-life. My personal beliefe on the soul is that it is the part of each person that can directly connect them to God through the Holy Spirit. Granted this leaves questions about those who lived in the time period of the OT. As for the analogy that the mind is like the spirit in-as-much as neither one can be measured or percieved I have to say I agree. Your statement that the mind is a mixure of chemicals and elctrical impulses is a bit skewed Hambone. The brain is able to function by direct result of this process but who says the mind does not continue even if this pattern is broken for a period of time. I have friends that believe everyone is part of one "Universal Consiousness" and that when your body dies your mind stays as a part of that "UC" and therefore is eternal. But ultimately who knows the answer to these questions??? And does it really matter??
  16. No that's what happened when Howard was working on the anti-cheat program. He got 12 dozen doughnuts when he started fixing orbitals problem, which resulted in massive...."backup" and he wasn't able to finish b4 the release date.
  17. He just like to sound smart. BTW i agree, cat+dog = messed up cartoon.
  18. I guess I'll "stoop" to answer this question. Since there is no "simple" answer to this here comes the essay. To fully answer this question you must understand the true reason Christ came to Earth. In the OT(Old Testament) Man had no direct relationship with God like we do in the NT(New Testament). The relationship between man and God was one of sacrifices and covenants. This is why you see angles visit people so often in the OT. Jesus came to Earth to fullfill the prophecy which IS the OT.Throughout the entire OT you can see the fortelling af a Messiah. The one who would come to redeem the Earth. Jesus wasn't forced to come to Earth he had a choice. Do you think it was a cake-walk for him...of course not. He was as much Diety as he was human. You can see in the Garden of Gethsemanie Jesus praying to God asking if there was another way. You ask, Why not kill everyone and be known as a savior. The dictionary definition of savior is: 1) One that saves from danger or desctruction. 2) One who brings salvation Let's examine definition 1. To save from danger or destruction....kill everyone does not = save from danger or destruction. If that's not enough I will continue. Definition 2. To truly understand this we must know what salvation is. Dictionary Definition for Salvation 1) a: Deliverance from the power and effecct of sin b: the agent or means that effects salvation (Digressing for a moment aren't you not supposed to use the word in it's own definition???) c: the realization of the supremacy of infinite Mind over all bringing with it the destruction and illusion of sin, sickness, and death 2) Liberation from ignorance or illusion 3) a: Preservation from destruction or failure b: deliverance from danger or difficulty Ok, that alot to cover. Well to paraphrase the deffinition salvation is being saved from hardship(including death). Hmmmm, once again a savior could not be one who runs aroung killing people. Now, you might want to examine the sinful part of this. Why can't someone who has sinned be a savior of man. First of all(and this will cover the Cain offering vs Able offering) a sacrifice must be pure. In the old testament when you sacrificed something to God it had to be pure, only the finest of gifts. This is why Able's offering was accepted and Cain;s was not. Able offered the best he had and Cain gave his left-overs to God. A pure offering eh?? Well, being as much Diety as man, Jesus couldn't exactly come to earth and start sinning because then he is no longer an acceptable offering, and no longer a perfect Diety. At this point it all seems like ramble so I'll refresh what I'm adressing No. Jesus was not here on Earth to sin for man, but to suffer for man's sin. He chose to come to Earth, fullfill the prophecy, die by man, descend to Hell in man's place, and rise again to take his rightfull place at the right hand of God, as the savior of mankind. If there is anything in here that you need more clarification on I would be happy to get scripture to back it up.
  19. I found an interesting site Biblical Inconsistencies Also, on the Bible Error topic, I was wondering why the Egyptians were going along, business as usual during the time the entire earth was supposed to be covered in water. According the most of the creation science sites I could find, the great flood was supposed to have happened around 2370 B.C. (there were some who said it went as far back as 3000 B.C. and even one that said the great flood took place around 1500 B.C.) The egyptians were recording their history, writing books, building tombs and doing whatever else those wild and crazy sun-worshipping fools did back then, yet there has never been a record found mentioning any flood. Plenty of records, books, mummys, heiroglyphs and the like, all created right around, before, during and after the earth took a bath of evil, and no mention of it, no break in the Pharonic history......... Just because I don't have time to pick out the parts I'm adressing the whole post is quoted. Also because I don't have the required time to do all thw cutting and pasting from the site. GE 4:4-5 God prefers Abel's offering and has no regard for Cain's. 2CH 19:7, AC 10:34, RO 2:11 God shows no partiality. He treats all alike. Differences between Old and New Testaments. The realationship man has with God in the New and Old Tesataments are a lot different because of Jesus fullfilling the prophecy of the Old Testament. GE 4:16 Cain went away (or out) from the presence of the Lord. JE 23:23-24 A man cannot hide from God. God fills heaven and earth. This is speaking in a spiritual meaning. To be able to read and understand the bible you have to be able to tell the difference bewtween Spiritual and Earthly. All of these "inconsistancies" are nothing more than missued quotes. If you would like I could prepare a list of 'Scientific Inconsistancies' for you filled with the same non-sense.
  20. Hambone have you even read the Bible in it's entirety?? The problem with people today is their lack of objectivity. Heaven forbid some1 presents a view that Hambone can't prove with his precious scientific methods. The irony of science lies in the fact that what one person proves another can disprove.(there are excpetions eg. Gravity) True the bible was written by man but clearly it was God inspired. The book of Revelation for example(read it sometime). How could someone living in 40 A.D. possibly imagine such things and be so right? Scientists can't even agree on how old the Earth is...Each one of them says it's such a simple formula. Carboin dating for example when running the same test twice on the same item seldom are the same results found. My biology teacher in highschool work for 2 decades on a project studying carbon dating and the theory of evolution. He ran tests on a piece of petrified wood and got so many different conclusions it's rediculous. Hmmmm, nice coincident how science just happens to have the "answer" when people doubt the word of the bible. When you feel vulnerable or are in doubt isn't it human nature to grab onto the easiest solution? What kind of statement is "It came in a time when people needed something to believe" So people no longer need something to believe. Only that breif, particular time period, in which each part of the Bible, which refutes your testimony, was written? Class calls so that's all for now.
  21. Wicca is basically a group of witches. They get together and have their ceremonies and whatnot. A few years ago they had a meeting not 50 miles from where I live on halloween night. Really there's no connection between wicca and druids. Totally different.
  22. I was studying up for my philosophy calss and ran across these two words experiencephenomenamay experiencenoumena I think I blacked out for about 15 minutes while attempting to decipher their meanings. I'll keep ya updated if I find anymore strange and unusual verbage.
