Some language, but should be suitable for work: http://www.cracked.com/article_14979_6-mos...s-in-world.html I bet those would all be better if all of them were ground together in a blender as a smoothie. Actually, I just think I found my own, new product for the marketplace! Put it in a red can with a lot of cool dragons and stuff on the sides and people will buy it for sure. Oh yeah, and I wouldn't read it if you plan to eat anything sometime soon.
  4. I actually don't mind the song either. It's a good song.
  5. Completely run its course. It was funny the first time?
  6. As far as I'm concerned, if the intent was supposed to be harmless, then it is harmless, like RE5 under fire for racism for killing black zombies in Africa. That's exactly what it's all about.
  7. I had some woman freak out once when I was working at McDonald's a few years ago. She blocked the drive-thru during the dinner hour for 45 minutes, until the police showed up and arrested her in about 5 minutes. It was funny. The customers kept coming in the front, all ticked off, yelling "what's going on in the DT?" and then we'd tell them the story and they laughed at her. Anyone with half a brain realizes its not something to get that upset over.
  8. Just got back from work. Thanks for all of the comments everyone, I read them all. @Xterminator: I work for hospitality services in the university, mostly as a chef at Gryphs sports bar. I talked with two employees today (boss left before I got there) and they said they weren't told about it either, but they did do it to them and they made good on paying the banked hours back later. Whether it was paid as OT or not, they couldn't remember :/ So, that's good enough for me, for now. I'll ask about it later when they pay back my banked hours if they're not paid as OT. Thanks for helping out everyone. Edit: Oh yeah, and Mo, the taxes killed me indeed. They took about 25% of my pay. Apparently our progressive tax system has deemed me as "rich".
  9. I'm paid by the hour, technically part-time, non-seasonal, but for the past two months I have always gone over 40 hours. They do have a clock system, and time-in/out reports which I haven't looked at yet because they're buried somewhere in the office (I have my own record anyway). When the manager started explaining it to me, the first thing he said was, "I think I've already explained this to you," so I will ask other employees today if this was ever mentioned when they were hired because if its a contract, even verbal, I will live with it. As for working over 60hrs some of those weeks, it was my choice, so I don't care about that. So, if it does happen, my only concern is if it's a cheap way of getting around paying my overtime. But since I added some information, I will wait to see what some people still have to say before I confront my boss about it. Things are obviously hectic at work right now and I can't afford to be making trouble without a proper cause. Oh, and we also eat the seals too. You should all come up and I'll make a mean seal stew.
  10. I've only been working for six years and have had three jobs, so I don't know much about business practices, but something at work lately has been bugging me and I need some extra opinions: I've been working like mad the past two months, with about 50+ hours a week. When I got my paycheck two weeks ago, I was only paid for about 80 hours, and I thought that maybe there was a few days off in that 'pay period' which brought it down because I was just getting started. But I've been working 6, 8-10 hour shifts a week for the past two weeks and 6, 10-12 hour shifts before that. When I checked my paycheck today (which was paid on Thursday), it said I'd only worked 70 hours(the two weeks prior to my first paycheck I mentioned[6, 10-12hr shifts]) . So naturally, I took this up with the manager on shift today and this is where my problem is: He said that there are caps on the amount of hours I work and that extra hours are "banked" - when I work two weeks and only put in, say, 50 hours, they will bump it up to 60/70/80 even though I only worked 50. This sounds fishy to me - has anyone worked any jobs where they do this? Isn't this an illegal workaround to paying me overtime that I earned? The guy I talked to is kind of second-in-command at the place, so if this is some conspiracy to gyp me on my pay, he might be in on it because we don't get along too well. I hope not because it's ridiculous trying to get a good job in this stupid city. Can someone confirm this for me? Thanks. EDIT: This is in Canada. I'm sure our work policies are mostly the same, but...

    Wow...

Oh great, if these ever become the standard for video games, I'd have to quit, with all the random and inappropriate stuff that I can't mention here that runs through my head. But this is ridiculous, you can stimulate the brain, trick it into performing bodily functions, etc. but a machine can not read what you're thinking . . . There's no specific signal from the brain that's as simple as "SMILE!" or "CAST MAGIC!" or "INSTANT HEADSHOT!" Unless of course, I'm missing the underlying joke again from another person with too much time on their hands. :/

Actually, every time you switch to a different act, you have to sit through 3 minutes of installation again. When you load up the game, if you continue the same act you were playing, you don't need to install. It was a pain, but oh well. Good to take a break every now and then anyway. Or in my case, grab something to eat. The only time I compared load speeds was with GTA4, and 10% slower sounds about right (for PS3). DMC4 was way faster, but that's only because you can install it on your PS3.

I seriously don't know why I didn't like Fallout 2 (the only one I've played [and the best one, right?]). When I loaded it up, I loved the selection of stats and skills, but then I started playing and I was stabbing scorpions with spears and I was like "Ugh, this is boring". It didn't help that I'd already seen the ending from when my brother played it, so I know the game got better (the scream when you blow someone away with a bozar is still awesome today), but I couldn't get past the beginning.

Actually, there was a lot of garbage on there. When you start a new game, for about two minutes, you watch a live action video that appears completely random, but then I found out if you push buttons you can change the channel like you're watching TV. It has all the ads on gametrailers.com for the four PMCs featured in the game, some game show, a David Hayter interview and others (I didn't watch them all, they're boring) and they add absolutely nothing to the game. The areas are huge and constantly changing, there are a ton of sound effects and the cutscenes are immense. But even though it really did take up the full 50GB, it could easily be compressed to less without changing the quality much.

Yeah, I'd have a 360 if I was rich, too. I still haven't played Halo 3 or Gears of War (Oh, wait, it's on PC and I still didn't get it! [j/k ]). What I'm sick of is this exclusivity garbage - and Square Enix is the king of it. It's fine for a series to be exclusive, like Halo, or MGS, but to take a game mid-series like FFTactics or Kingdom Hearts and release sequels, prequels, etc. on different consoles is ridiculous IMO. My jaw hit the floor when they put so much time and effort into making FFXII so epic, then made its (for the most part) crappy sequel on a rival, handheld console. Everything released on PS3 should be on 360 and vice versa, they're pretty much the same console.

The sell out talk is not about FFXIII. Please re-read my post. -_- Because to me, I wouldn't even classify FF as JRPG - its too epic and too many people enjoy it. I'm talking more about what are "anime games".

I agree with all of those, except Hideo has stated many times that he favours the PS consoles, and MGS4 truly is a huge game and would take multiple discs to be put on the 360. The real thing I was saying, though, was that I feel MOST Xbox owners have zero appreciation for JRPGs. Even the mention of that word around my brother spouts the same response EVERY time: "lame". I know a few people on these forums that turned their nose up at me for being interested in anime and Japan, in general. Everybody over here knows that Japan doesn't like the XBox, let alone Japan themselves - and here's two Japanese companies willing to release a game solely to a crowd that won't even appreciate its value as much as the fans that put them there. There's a saying in Japan: "Neko ni koban" - gold coins for a cat. Even the best gift is useless if they don't know how to use it.

I'm not looking forward to having that chick tag around with me the whole game. I miss the scary atmosphere of RE. The only scary part in RE4 was fighting Salazar's 'right hand'. Having someone fight alongside me will detract from that even more than Ashley did. Otherwise, it looks completely awesome, though with a lot of stiff animations, the game still looks far from done if you ask me. Oh, and Fallout is only for a certain type of gamer - I played it and I could NOT stand it, it's horrible. But for some people, it is a godsend.

Yeah, now all the XBots will be changing their opinions and stop saying the game sucks (Like DMC). I bet they can't wait to play it. What's really ticking me off is Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia as XBox exclusives - they were obviously paid off big time. These are both games with HUGE Japanese fan bases and Xbox continues to do poorly in Japan, so I see this as the height of selling out. They'd rather make dirty money than make games their fans paid for and allowed them to continue making games. Just another reason why I'm about ready to boycott all Square-Enix games. (Though Tales is Namco, making this their first) Multi-platform is always a good thing, though.
  21. Would've been WAAAAAY cooler if the fat guy ended up duelling and beating Darth Vader.
  22. True, but I think it'd be better if more kids played DDR and were encouraged to exercise.
  23. Booo, it borken Edit: Nvm, connection being dumb.
  24. I'm disappointed in you all!! Your blasphemous comments are unwelcome! D3 is clearly too good for the most of you.
