  1. All good points Flitter. I'm pretty guilty of hopping into a Manta and buzzing off without riders. Thanks for the tips on Manta teamwork. I'll use them as my bible now. I have noticed things getting a little attitudy lately. I'm glad you see it too. The reason I came here was to avoid that. I remember logging in one afternoon and two or three guys were using the in game team speak to chit chat about whatever and were constantly slagging about the server and the players on it. It kinda' tinkled me off, but I'm not the language police, so I kept my mouth shut. I have noticed that after playing with you guys and hopping on to a random server, I totally kick butt because of some of the trial by fire lessons you guys are dishing out. Thank you one and all.
  2. That was fun for the brief amount of time I could make it. I liked the maps you guys had set up. Urban is one of my favorites. I had....family issues that kept me from logging on until 9:30 or so. I didn't have Team Speak, but I do now, so the next time I should be all set.
  3. That sounds pretty cool. Just let me know a time and IP and I'll join in. I'm usually done putting the kid to bed, etc by about 9 every night and I go to school on Mondays, so that's out. Any other night I'm golden.
  4. I guess I'll find out when it comes on HBO or TBS or something. It looks like total crap in the previews.
  5. IMDB is your friend. That was Creepshow and the guy that played that character was noneother than Stephen King.
  6. Well, you'll be happy to know that the demons have been removed from the DooM movie and replaced by genetic mutants or whatever. That's why I won't pay money to see that one. I will go see Halo though. Even though I've never played the game, Peter Jackson is supposedly going to either direct or produce it, so I think it will probably be pretty cool.
  7. I have a mic, but I wasn't sure if he was hearing me, since he was on the other team. Can you talk across teams in UT?
  8. Hey Lex, nice playing with you the other day. I'm sorry if I came across as uncommunicative. I haven't nailed down the subtleties of typing and playing at the same time. To answer your question, I'll join GC when there isn't a problem that I have that 25 bucks won't fix. I keep meaning to join up, but every time I scratch some extra cash together, either my wife spends it up or there's some kind of problem. Lately, it's been the cars.
  9. I thoroughly enjoyed all the mods this weekend. Thanks a lot guys.
  10. John Carpenter's "The Thing" blew me away when I first saw it. i still think nothing beats it for the pure suspense and creep out factor.
  11. I have a question on the GC UT2004 servers. Is there a reason that they only rotate about 5 maps or so? I've been playing just about every night and it's always the same maps. I'd like to see them get mixed up a bit.
  12. http://www.woxy.com A pretty killer live alternative radio station.
  13. I just stumbled upon some pretty funny comics created with the HL2 engine. The CS ones reminded me of some servers I played on before I found GC. Enjoy
  14. Happy B-Day to the little one and congrats to you. My boy will be 4 this coming January and it still blows my mind.

    UT 2004

CS was fun, but I'm now completely addicted to UT Onslaught and I don't see myself getting tired of it anytime soon. I just wanted to post to thank GC for providing such an excellent atmosphere for a new guy like me to play and learn. I've been playing the last couple of nights on NEPENTHE. I have to say it's extremely addictive and you guys make if really fun. Good teamwork and good games. Thanks GC dudes. When I scrape some extra cash together, I'm definitely going to join up and do my part to support your excellent servers.
  16. So, I've been playing this for about a week now and I think I'm ready for online play. I tried to hop on the GC server, but it said I needed a password. Is it for members only? Can you guys suggest some good Onslaught servers?
  17. That's the gayest thing I've ever seen.
  18. I <3 New Egg. I ordered it three days ago and now I have it in my sweaty palms. Installing now, donkey kicked later.
  19. No harm no foul. Sarcastic and unfriendly, I can handle. It's stupidity I have a problem with. I forgot to mention that in my autoexec macro, all I have is one line, RunCode, and then I point it to the function that I want to run. A good way to test it is to create a function called test and then just have it do a msgbox "it works" or something like that. If you point to the function test from the RunCode command in your autoexec macro, then the message box should pop up when you open the database. If you want to convert your macro to a module, just highlight it and do a File-Save As and in the dropdown, select module instead of macro. That's probably the easiest way. There's a good list of run command method constants here.
  20. His macro was called autoexec. I don't think he was dealing with any actual autoexec.bt files or anything. Fox is right though, you can nest macros. What I do is use the autoexec macro to run a module, where I keep the code for the actions I want to take.
  21. I can't remember. I just recently figured out how to read through the console for stuff like that. It doesn't matter. BTW...since I'm here on the boards, I'll be playing as [WOXY] DogStarMan for continuity.
