This has happened to me before, but with IE.......I tried everything to get it to fix with no luck.....I eventually had to reformat my computer. Try your IE and see if that works, if it doesnt your cable or dsl co. will tell you to do a ping test and you will be able to. It a crazy bug if you have the same one I had, everything seems fine , but Browser wont work........Let me know if you get it fixed. -frog

I have the same mobo and no problems with the firewall..........how long did you allow Steam to update? It took me about 3 hrs to get it fully installed again after installing my new mobo. It might be that you have such an old copy of CS:S that it needs to update longer, but CS:S will play while updating but just runs alot slower......hope that helps -frog

Laz/Cujo......thanks guys, I'm a little confused myself at times , but I think I will look into a different Case and Power Supply. This is my first 100% self built sys, so I know there will be a few things I can chalk up to lack of experience. My order hasnt been processed yet so i have time to change my case, power supply though I can go to Fry's and look around or is there a preticular brand/wattage you guys already recommend?

edit - took a look at the case as you posted a link in the other thread. honestly the cooling is sub par. the front panel thing that looks like you could swap it for an ipod is cool but the rest is nothing special. What type of power supply do you recommend? Highwer wattage? or better brand?

I've seen the Tsunami, they look nice. I just ordered the ATRIX CSCI-A9001-C4 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811209020 ) because it looked great. But Laz, I also ordered everything else new to build a sys (posted in the this forum) and not sure if I have a limited selection of Cases for my Asus A8N32 Deluxe Mobo? Does it matter? Are all cases standard to all Mobos? frOG

Thanks guys....I agree now about the 4GB of memory ...from more reports that I have read it will slow the performance of the system down. I will probably also just stay with my 32bit XP as well, but I had another questions...is it better to have 2 256MB SLI video cards or have 1 512 MB Video card. Cujo....to answer your other questions, i already have a 19in LCD and a 500 watt power supply that is pretty good (so far). Thanks guys again this has helped a lot........frog
