Well, I just woke up my entire department on a nice thursday afternoon... I'm usually sitting right around the middle... sometimes I own, and others i get worse... i'm ok with it though.

yes, the powerpc processor xbox uses is a G5... and it does have 3... which means 3 times the heat problem... 8)

you know... The sole reason that I passed on teh xbox 360 (besides money) was the problems they were going to have. I work at a publishing company, and we have several Macintosh computers here (about 200). The G5 chip has serious heating issues... constantly overheat on all our IMacs... We are always sending them in for repair... then I found out that the xbox 360 was going to use the G5 chips... HAHAHA... yeah, apple switched to INTEL for their notebooks because the G5 was too unreliable. So the lesson here is, no matter how many systems you get, there will be problems... I haven't heard anything about them doing any changes away from the G5 chipset. Oh the fun. I feel for ya man... but I think I will wait for the PS3. side note, just picked up NFS: MW. YEH!!

I'm stuck with spotty service from charter... those people are useless... I am having network problems left, right and up nwo... waiting for the down to come into play. I have some loss... my down speeds are all over the place... but not where they should be... flaky connection at best... and all charter keeps telling me to do is run a different trace with a different program. bunch of yahoos... I miss my roadrunner!! zero, what program are you using to run the trace route with?? I cant seem to find one that includes the packet loss that also allows me to set the packet size. anyone else have any troubleshooting tips for me, it would be appreciated.

my fps took a 50% hit!! that on top of my current choke/loss problems as of late is really starting to frustrate me... I might actually break down and trouble shoot this now... ugh.

I currently have a xbox... always had a ps and ps2 before... now I'm waiting for the ps3... we could go back and forth about the hardware adn which one is better... but when it comes down to it... it is preference. I like the 360... but I'm not running out and buying one... I will wait for the PS3, I have more interest in that. Maybe after the new year, I will buy a xbox360 as well... but only if the price drops. I don't pass judgement on sony from different divisions... Playstation within sony is like a whole nother company. and what is with microsoft offering a core system, and then the real xbox with the drive?? that is kind of lame if you ask me.

well, I went ahead and installed the pack that i mentioned above... so far I really like it. some of the models I will be changing out... a few weapon models and sounds just need to go... but it did dress up the game a little... my fps took a 10 point drop... not bad considering I was at an average of 95 already. so I will keep playing with it... thanks for the tips.

I've seen a number of threads over the times that talk about fps, and system performance in general... alot of your config of css goes into this, as well as personal preferences. I say post your config... give us your system specs, and what kind of performance you get... maybe we can help each other out. I will post mine as soon as I get home tonight... System specs: Athalon XP 3200 1 GB RAM 9800XT Video Card 3mb cable connection (averages 2.2) config to follow.

i use omega... swear by them... i always have problems with ATI.

I use GAIM.. same as trillian really... but I like Gaim better. google it.

I used to customize cs all the time... skins, sounds, sprites..etc... looking for a decent pack to pretty up the game... staying away from fusion... I don't like them... I found this one... PAF Custom Pack Anyone ever use it or know anything about it? Anyone have any other skins or packs they recommend?
