  1. This will all be fixed, very sorry for the way my team is acting on this server.
  2. Hopefully I reply to everything you asked =) 1) Yes, that video. Notice that is with interp .01 and interpolate 1. See how the Hitboxes (the color boxes) are way ahead of the model when it moves. Now, what they didn't show you is what happens with interp 0 and interpolate 0. The hitboxes align up with the model perfectly. This "in sense" gives you better "registration". What I mean by registration, is people shoot at the models, not at space before or after the model, you shoot at the model. With these two commands at 0, the bullets actually hit what you shoot at, unless your spraying. (which is really never accurate no matter what) 2) Interpolate 0 does give you a weird game shaky feeling, which is why many people dont' use it. The reason for the shaking is because of the client trying REALLY hard to line up the model with the hitboxes. And because it is running so many numbers so fast, its hard to put out an accurate reading. 3) Don't worry about all that stuff in that webpage, I dont' even know what half of it means 4) CAL and CEVO have both not fixed their CSP's yet. However, ZBlock has theirs fixed. 5) Wether you guys add it or not is up to you, I as a hardcore scrimmer/matcher am used to fair play. There are many commands that haven't been turned into cheats by valve yet, that the CSP's can turn off. Personally, for pubbing I think the CAL csp would be the best, but they haven't updated it yet. ZBlock as I have said, I have had no problems with registration or command abuse. As for players pings being low giving them better registration. Yeah, of course. Better ping gives you a close connection to the server. The only reason people would have been complaining about registration when you added the CSP the first time, is because everyone was using interpolate 0, and CAL locks it at 1. Any other ?'s just ask.
  3. Ok, interp and interpolate both decide where your models are on your screen to where they REALLY are on the server. The default for these commands is interp .1 and interpolate 1. I dont' know if you have seen any of the interp videos that were out these last 2 CAL seasons, but client and server hitboxes are different. Interp/Interpolate help even out between the two and make the game "smoother". However your models are farther apart from the hitboxes on the server. Its hard to explain, but say you see a guy standing in front of you, and you can see the boxes that the gfx department made him out of. Then you move him to the left suddenly. You'll notice that the modle lags about .10 seconds or so, then will catch back up with the hit boxes when it stops. Or vica-versa, I forget which. With interp/interpolate both at 0, then the hitboxes line up "perfectly" with the model on your screen. I say "perfectly", because, you can't have "perfect" client/server alignment. However, when you turn your interps to 0, your client side has to work harder to put the model right on the hitboxes. Which gives the "laggy" effect, but in fact actually gives better "registration" to where you are shooting at the model. I probably just confused you more. I'll try and find the video, its on putfile I believe.
  4. There is no "laggy" problem with CSP. If anything, its a "registration" problem. Now the explination for that is, on the CAL.csp they have locked cl_interp to .01 and cl_interpolate to 1. This takes away some of the model accuracy from the game, however makes the gameplay much more fair, because people with low end computers can't handle cl_interpolate 0. CEVO.csp however has cl_interp at .01 and cl_interpolate 0/1. This means that if you have a good/decent computer and you want more accurate models, you can use 0 and if you have a low end computer you can use 1. This does however give a very slight advantage to people with better computers using 0. As for ZBlock, I do not know what the locks are for interp/interpolate, however, I have played on quite a few ZBlock servers, and have had no registration problems. As for the new bug going around w/ the CSP's, I have heard that ZBlock has already solved the problem, or never even had the problem. CAL, and CEVO however won't fix it for a few months, and you shouldn't use it. I have never seen any public complaints about any of the CSP's lagging anyone in 2/3 seasons of online play. If it is lagging you, then you probably have an autoexec config that has some really wierd commands, or your rates are set too low. Oh yeah, thanks for fixing the clan stat page. <3
  5. Oh, and I forgot something else, you should try adding a new CSP thats out. Its called Z-Block, and I've never had any registration problems with it. You should try adding it and see if people complainzorz.
  6. So I noticed that the stats page is back up!!! However, team s4h is not in the clan rankings..... why is this?
  7. You can't get rid of nuke. That's just mean.
  8. Best command, phys_pushscale 1000.
  9. playdemo ******* > play ******* Then Shift + F2 for a controller, or demoui in console.
  10. Sometimes the server says nextmap is de_nuke, and it changes to office or italy. I keep forgetting to write down the times, but nuke is the rejected child atm... I think maps should be added. Like Train, Inferno, Prodigy, cpl_Mill maybe even Chateu? Some Dust1 is nice sometimes too. Keep out Port and that stupid new hostie map they made, and I'll be happy =) I'm kinda getting tired of Italy, Office, and Aztec ;/ And since its a pub, may as well throw in some more to the rotation. Or have the admin mod do voting D:
  11. Personally, I think either the CEVO or CAL csp needs to be put back onto the server, there are many commands out there that can be used/abused for player gain. A ping regulator, lately there have been multiple players w/ 100, 200, 300+ ping playing. Not only are they nearly impossible to hit, but they seem to have no problem hitting anyone else. Fix the stats?! Otherwise Edit: I would just like to add how much I appreciate the admins that run these servers. I just got done pubbing in a server with kids running around prefireing the heck out of everyone, staring at enemies through walls and such. There have been some instances where I have gotten on XFire and pm'd an admin, and they responded promptly and acted with quick decisions. I feel some people who play on these servers don't notice all of the work that the admins put into these servers. Thanks agian! And Great Job! <3
  12. I assume you are talking about CS_militia.... if it is DE then you may have a bad version of a map some amatuer made, if it is CS then your files may be corrupt, or you have a command in your autoconfig.cfg that is conflicting with the map. If you think your files are corrupt, you can do a cache verification. Open your view games console, right click source -> Proporties -> Local Files -> Verify Cache.
  13. If the CSP mod is off, then most of you are probably using interp 0 and interpolate 0, which means much more accurate shots. CSP locks interpolate at 1 which takes away a good amount of "accuracy". So overall you'll probably see better registration, but more "illegal" commands being used that CSP blocks. Just my 2cents. CSP should be ON the server, if not the CAL one, at least the CEVO one, where you can decide on interpolate 0/1 and you can have "better registeration".
  14. A couple different things, hopefully I remembered it all. To get you started http://www.freewebs.com/clans4h/autoexec.htm has both my config that I use, and another config that a teammate uses. The larger one is for people who have extremely bad fps problems. Mine works for just about every decent-extreme computer. Some things people were talking about, that I remember that I have comments to. cl_interp 0 and cl_interpolate 0 : Many of you said that the game is too shaky to use. If that is true, and it was for me at one time, only change the cl_interpolate command back to 1. Leave the interp command at 0 at all times, unless you are in a .CSP locked server. -dxlevel 80,81,90,95 : 95 is obviously the highest quality game. I use it on my comp, many people can't, it's all about what hardware you have and what clocking you do to the hardware. My reccomendation on this command is different from what some have said, which is that 81 is the best. Well that statement is half true. 80 is the lowest you should ever have to use, unless you have a 5 year old comp, then you shouldn't even play cs:s . Even I use 80 on train and inferno, just b/c those maps own your fps. When you change your launch options to -dxlevel xx it resets all of your gfx commands to align with the dxlevel you are telling the game to run in. To fix all of your gfx from getting reset, you need to: put the -dxlevel xx (80,90,95) command in the launch options. Load the game, go to options -> video -> advanced -> hit save, ok, then exit the game. Go back into the launch options, and delete the -dxlevel xx command. Now when you reload the game, it saves the dxlevel to your system, and doesn't reset the game gfx everytime you load. aka resolution, model quality, shadows, etc. Resolution 640,860,1024,1280+ : Pretty simple consept that many people forget about when talking about your fps. Basically the lower the resolution, the higher the fps will be. Now I know many people, inluding me, can't play in 860, or ever 640, but if you really need the frames, that is the resolution you need. 1024 is what I now use. 1280 is what I love to use, but it just eats your fps like a little gremlin. If you use anything above 1280, you need a super computer, or you just want to play w/ 5 fps all the time. I remember a post about someone saying they have a 3500 64bit and a ati850xt. Why you get apprx. 50fps is because of that 850. Yeah, I know its the best AGP card, I have a 6600gt AGP card. We are in the same boat. The reason for the huge difference in fps is b/c of 1 simple thing. A.G.P. It holds back so much of the information b/c AGP can only shoot in 8 lines between itself and the motherboard. Pci-E is 16, and only getting faster. So when you said something about why you need to lower everything, that is why, hopefully I rememberd that question correctly. If there is anything missed, that I forgot to comment on, leave a post and I'll try to help. I can usually figure out what is wrong with most computers. I've used just about every cfg and trick out there by now, so hopefully I can help you if you want the help. Specs: Abit NF7-S AMD 3000+ 400FSB (non 64) 1Gig Corsair pc3200 Nvidia GeForce 6600Gt (AGP) Normally on CS:S I get apprx 80FPS. But I like keeping my gfx high, so I could get more frame, but I'm content with 80. On some maps its 50(train, inferno, sometimes nuke), I usually change my dxlevel before-hand if I know I'm gonna play one of these maps. Aka, scrim or match. And as I said, if you need any help, I'm willing to help out, either post here, or you can contact me on irc.gamesurge.net, #s4h, s4h-NorgmaN or XFire - RNorgman@excite.com Oops I forgot about "rates". It's also another simple concept just like Resolution. Anyone w/ Broadband/Cable+ should use rate 25000, cl_cmdrate 100/101, cl_updaterate cl_100/101. Now, say your getting mad choke, aka 20+, then you take your cl_updaterate, and lower it to 80/90. If its still high, lower it more. and if you lower under 50, then its just a poopty server. For people w/ dialup... Just leave your rates at 2500,30,20. Not much you can do if you still have dialup, other then get Cable.
  15. I apologize to Ash and anyone else I've offended by this incident. There was a stupid mis-understanding either way you look at it. Hope to see you all, so I can pop out your eye-balls!!
  16. I dont't know about some people, but many of the members of s4h are "Night-Owls". We stay up all the time, playing CS:S, CS, and Lineage2. As many people have come to see, we were pubbing the other night which started as a fun Me vs. Reflex knife battle. We played militia, train, then the rotation went to dust2. We were having a blast throwing nades/flashes/smokes at each other and trying to get knife kills. Then a kid joined the server, noticed what we were doing and joined in. Sorry for not remembering his name, its probably in the logs. We played a few rounds, then Ash joined the game. We told him what we were doing, and he played along for 1 round. Next round he bought an ak, and killed me and the other pubber. Next round he went to bombsite B and proceeded to plant the bomb. Now, not to get sidetracked, but we know that its CS, not KnifeWars, and guns and bombs and such are part of the game, and we should play the game like its meant to be played or go to another server. Well, we continued on playing, while Ash kept using AK, and running off to bombsites to plant. This got us frustrated because we just wanted to have fun, and we were being kept back from what we were doing. So, we decided to ghost over Ventrilo where Ash was, I would M4 him, and then we would continue the KnifeWar. This went on a few rounds, as you can see from the demo, until we just gave up. Overall, we understand that this is not our server, and because we aren't in charge we don't get to make up the rules while we play, just because we are good. We will take full responsibility for the actions we took for ghosting, and team-flashing. It was dumb and immature, but hell, it was 3-4a.m. and we just wanted to have some fun. We know that many people on the server have respect for us, and love having us on the server for more competition in your public servers. If you feel the ban needs to stay on, so be it. However, we really enjoy playing on your server and would love to continue playing. I guess I leave the of the work to the admins at this point. NorgmaN 0:1:40586 RefleX 0:0:456005 P.S. In the post earlier with the demo, it says we have been banned. I however can join servers, however, have not spoken to RefleX since the supposed ban. I would like to add the Robot Smiley to make you smile
