Congrats on your narrow win Man, was it really tense at times to watch!!! They were pretty good with the AWP. I think those first few rounds you guys were just outplayed, didn't see any special strats or anything. Always seemed to me that de_inferno is pretty balanced, with a slight favor for the CT side.

As a pretty avid gamer I've been somewhat hesitant about purchasing a LCD monitor until recently, when I noticed an ad in the sunday paper from Best Buy for the new LG monitors. The one that caught my eye was a 20.1" widescreen LCD monitor from LG with a native resolution of 1680x1050, 8ms response time, and a 1400:1 contrast ratio. Having thought about it for oh, maybe 10 minutes, I decide to purchase the monitor, and wow, am I happy! Just ran the CS Source demo and am still getting respectable frame rates at 1680x1050 res so everything looks in order. That's pretty sweet, but yeah, that thing would be so useless unless you were point blank :\ Although funny enough, I find burst to be better for long-ranged shots in CS. Go figure.

Um, isn't it spring break for a lot of college kids? Might help explain it. As for me, i picked up a new game (Galactic Civilizations II) and been suckered into that for the past week.

Same here! I was doing pretty terrible last night, but sometimes, I would get a random headshot in even though I wasn't aiming directly at their head. Other times, I would have my crosshairs dead on and I would not hit, or hit only once. I dunno if it was just me, or other people as well. I noticed a couple of times where I should have died, but the other person didn't kill me (luck? maybe) as well.

Sticking to the topic at hand...I'd like to see this map gone from the rotation.

Ah, thanks for that tip. I haven't really thought about doing that, and I probably won't, I enjoy a bit of variation. Until then though, I guess people will just have to bear with me

When I first saw the new CT skin, I thought to myself *whoa, did this guy just come out of the trenches of the first world war?* Haha, he's pretty bug-eyed & funny looking, but aside from the gas mask, I think he looks a lot like the GIGN model that was introduced last patch. Wonder why it took valve so long to slap him in the game then You can kinda confuse him with the regular terrorist model as well, so there's an advantage to choosing the scary looking one. As for the new T model, wow, I always mistake him for a CT, and it's kinda bad for both sides since I'll TK if i'm a T and I'll just die if i'm a CT. The reason being is that he's wearing a green that's really similar to the CT's Seal Team model. Aside from that, does everybody notice the bluetooth wireless piece on his left ear? That's pretty neat, and kinda fitting with the name, lol. Aside from the two new models, I'm curious as to why valve didn't fix the favorite servers bug with the new patch. It doesn't seem to be a huge problem to fix, but it sure gets annoying really fast! *boggle*

I've never played CS 1.6, I started with Source. I can also see your point about scopes inducing camping though, but even now I still think the Ts camp a whole lot. And good point about the hostages being way darn slow about following you, that problem's prevented a few wins.

I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of the AK more, although I feel as if you should be more stationary while firing then compared to the M4. With the M4 I can be running around or hopping like a chicken with its head cut off and still be able to hit fine. With the AK, as soon as I start moving, I seem to not be able to hit a thing even with bursts. Overall though, I'm starting to like this gun a lot.

I thought this map was supposed to be taken out of the rotation? If so, when is this gonna happen? There's a plethora of reasons why this map isn't that great, and it seems like the server population dips each time the map comes up in the cycle. Admins have been manually skipping the map as well, so I can't really think of any good reason for it to stay on, besides the fact that it's a very PRETTY map. Let's see...what's wrong with it? It induces camping like no other. The games tend to drag on and on, and the pace is just generally slow. Granted, it's some what fun when the Ts start to rush, but that occurs very rarely and only after the CTs have lost for a while (overconfidence on the part of Ts). Once they lose a couple of games, Ts tend to go back to sitting and camping in the house or wherever. Performance problems. I've mentioned this already, but I guess I'll just throw it in there again. My computer can handle the other maps without too much problem, with the FPS just drops like a stone on militia. It also takes the longest time for me to load. T-sided map. I think this is a very T-sided map especially without scopes. Ts have the advantage of having the high ground and being able to easily bottleneck the underground passage by camping outside the shed. CTs have to have more skill (tactical skill, weapons handling) then Ts to win consistently in the no-scoped environment. I think that about summarizes my feelings regarding this map...honestly though, is there anybody who enjoys playing militia? I've only heard people complain about it.

I have a really difficult time registering with the AK when I'm doing the 2-3 round bursts. I normally aim for the upper torso area for the bursts as well. Should I be aiming lower??

I am guilty of this as well as I prefer CT. I can't seem to use the AK worth anything, granted, I don't have that much practice with it do i?

Alright so I'm a bit of a military history geek and I'll admit it here and now. In any case, I'm here I am reading "How Far from Austerlitz: Napoleon 1805-1815" by Alistair Holmes and I come across a sentence that basically says... Napoleon accidentally pellets one of his field marshals with shot in the face during a hunting accident. Concidence? Perhaps we should be comparing the Bush administration with tyranny? Regardless, I found it to be vastly amusing and it made me really think about how often things tend to repeat in the course of history. Haha, I hope someone else was amused by this as well.
