It's a sad day... The word shocking doesn't even come close to describing the shooting in VA today. The real motive for the shooting is still unknown, but for now, it seems like a young male (student or ex-student of the school) just lost it and went on a shooting rampage. What drives one to such extreme is anyone's guess since the killers usually end up dead. I've been brought up with the idea that watching TV, especially violent shows, influence the way we act in real life. Needless to say, I thougth that my parents and their generation were over-reacting. I'm 38 and I remember silly stuff like kids jumping off roofs because they saw it done on TV (for those old enough to remember - Six million dollar man - lol). Columbine is an incident that comes to mind when we talk about this issue. I don't mean to sound old, but I'm feeling what my parents were feeling when I was young. My question to you guys: 1. Do violent/graphic materials from media and games desensitize the way we feel and act? 2. Knowing what you experienced while growing up, things have changed tremendously with New technology, themes, etc. What do you think the future will bring? Peace... My prayers to the victims and their families.

Cold turkey all the way! Just like when you're quitting anything addictive, you should do it at once. The shock of quiting and how your body reacts to it can be a good thing, in a way. If it's too easy to quit, you might pick it up again knowing that you can quit again. Want a reason to quit: If you have a friend that works in the medical field (hospital morgue, coroner's office, etc.) have them show you what a cigarette filtered lung looks like. First time reporting... On 9/19/06 about 2am pst, this drunk guy (Anal Detonator STEAM_0:1:5349930) said and typed so many offensive things. Not to mentioned that he was tk-ing, too. We started "voteban", but not enough players voted. He had a friend on the server at the same time. He was pretty bad too. You'll know who I'm talking about when you check the log. Over and out!

Wow Chief! Wife gone for 2.5 weeks!!? Imagine playing without your wife bugging you. Maybe your wife is not like that, but my wife complains if I play more than 2~3 hours. lol She's a cool lady, except when it comes to games. Anyways, I'll see you online! btw Fatty. I joined GC about a few weeks ago... This is a cool bunch of guys, never mind the server. I guess the people make the server, huh? It's well worth the money. See you on the game.

Hi John... As ironic as it may be, since I joined, I've been swamped with work. Haven't really played much at all. The point of joining was to play more and be a bigger part of what goes on here, but it worked the other way around. Been on the forum only about 4 times so far. lol I'll try to be on it more often. Replying to an old issue, I guess. But, I would like to make a comment about showing respect to others. I agree with fatty. During the game I'm too busy keeping myself alive, never mind taking someone else out, lol. I don't have time for a spelling check! It's true that some people do have a harder time spelling and using correct grammar. Sure we can laugh about it and make a tasteful joke about it, because sometimes it's just funny. But, we should not go as far as ridiculing them for such pitty mistakes. You know what I mean? That's a form of discrimination. Remember, there's always someone smarter and/or better educated than you! We should all learn/practice to laugh about ourselves. I know it's a little off the subject, but I noticed a bit of this "conflict" during play. As far as comments about "paying to be adim" was definately out of line. Maybe it wasn't the context that Xoul meant to deliver. If it wasn't how he meant to come out, then an appology by Xoul would suffice, I think. It goes back to being too busy playing and words/typing don't come out right. Bottom line: Be respectful and considerate to others. One of the reasons I joined GC was because I could tell the GC members from guest players (other than the gc string after the name, lol). GC members had a certain discipline about how they conducted during play. By playing more responsibly, we could have more quality people join GC. Let's have fun! I guess you guys been having fun already. I just joined GC. lol There's a piece of my mind.
