I think its just a ploy to get news coverage. Mike Adams a.k.a. the "health ranger" has been ranting about dairy milk consumption for years ... but not because of treatment of animals. There was some really long rant of his you could listen to (just audio) but I can't find it anymore. He also writes for newstarget.com, which I guess is now http://www.naturalnews.com/, probably because natural is trendy. He might be a nut case, or he might be right. I have no idea.

They paid for the venue and the meal. We paid for the liquor and the dj. That didn't really give them a say though. Actually many times during the planning process we wished we wouldn't have let them pay for anything, because then they felt like they could control the guest list. They had a say in it, because I think there is a natural tendency to feel like you have to meet the wishes of your family -- to make them happy -- when really the only ones that need to be happy is the two of you.

My one bit of advice would be, though, to do what the two of you think is right; and not to let your families pressure you into something you don't want. We did the whole wedding ceremony thing because my wife allowed her parents to tell us what we could or couldn't do. When it was all said and done, we wished we would have just done our own thing -- what we wanted to do was get married on a beach in Hawaii, just the two of us and a Minister. Maybe someday we'll do it all over again -- the right way.

We were about to do the whole scantron thing, and there was some weekend retreat we had to go to. Then we got into a little argument with the churches mandatory wedding planner, who said we couldn't have this song in our wedding cuz it wasn't on their list of "approved" songs (ELCA Lutheran). http://www.music-lyrics-gospel.com/gospel_..._here_24524.asp And we told em where they could go ... and canceled our reservation on the church ... and booked the basement of the American Legion, and hired a wonderful Methodist minister to marry us. So we got married in the basement of a bar.

The world's largest particle accelerator is going to be fired up tomorrow, and apparently there was some controversy about the risks of it destroying the world. So, my wife's computer is acting up. Windows XP, SP3. Occasionally, when shes idle for a period of time, the machine reboots. Also it appears to hang during shutdown (also occasionally). In the system event viewer, I find the following appears consistent with reboot/hang on shutdown times. For the hang on shutdown this message appears every hour. Any smart ideas?

55% Watched my roommate play the game for eva ... and it looked sooo dumb. Just played dust2 over and over, and the doors are always stuck cocked half way open? W T F? I may ask the wife for em for my birthday For the card -- it may have been the wrong decision but -- I decided that none of the games I play use the Creative EAX APIs, so I'm not sure what other gaming specific stuff I'd be interested in that would give any advantage in games. At the time I pulled the trigger, noone here or on RP had anything positive whatsoever to say about the Creative cards. Actually, I wish I would have saved the soundcard I had in my old machine, because I'm convinced it would have been better than my onboard sound. Anyway, I may have bought the wrong card but I'm 95%( +-5%) positive that I'll be happy with the one I bought.
