Actually, it might be more of an indicator than we think. The fact is, by your post, you're showing that you just don't understand the whole topic. If I said some choice words to your mother, then looked at you and said, hey, it's just words, pal...how would you react. If you weren't infuriated, then you've got no respect for her. You probably think drugs should be legalized too, right? Hey it's your body. Should we be allowed to manufacture bombs too? Free country, right? The big question was this: Is it necessary to use profanity to communicate? The answer is obviously no, which means you are making a conscious decision to cuss every time you do. There's gotta be a place where you would hold your tongue (if not, you've got big problems). How about church? Maybe you attend, but my guess is you don't. Maybe on Christmas? How about a wedding. Ok, during that wedding, you trip and fall right in front of everyone. You going to be dropping the F-Bomb? No, you'll exercise some control in that extreme situation. Now when you go on down the line of settings, you very quickly come to the atmosphere where you let the words fly. So there is a line somewhere, albeit very far up towards the right. Thus, you choose. Now, if you're going to go back to the "programmed automatic" argument, then you're just saying that you don't have control over yourself, which may be more evidence of the indicator we spoke of above.

Saw someone get "dicsonnected" last night via the server, which means valve has done something. There is hope! Calling people cheaters falls under whining and people will be kicked/banned for it.

Some people don't even notice themselves, and nobody speaks up. Played summer softball with a guy who came in, and this guy dropped the F-Bomb in just about every sentence. Early in the season, I had my daughter with me, and he let it fly, and I asked him to be more careful (politely) when my daughter was in earshot. After the season was over, he pulled me aside and thanked me for having the balls to speak up, and that he's been more aware since that day. He didn't want to sound like a sailor. Swearing? I used to hate it too, but don't mind it so much now. Some people pointed out that it kept getting voted up. The fact is, I think more people like it than not...but hey, we could always vote it right back off!

Here's what I posted in our private forums: I watched it. I didn't sense any aimbots by any means. The second kill in middle high: you have to keep in mind that you don't see exactly what he does. It may be a few frames off. The shots, from our recorded point of view, were obviously into the wall. Firing into wall in B hall: This would raise a question in anyone's book. He was firing right where that cove is on the other side. Kills as T from middle high: again, you see the lag as both players fire when you can't see the other. People whining but I saw 2 legit kills there. Conclusion: If we knew the guy, we wouldn't say he was cheating, so I guess we should give him the benefit of the doubt. That's my take.

I know that I don't tolerate people whining cheater while I'm admin. We went through this in 1.3 didn't we? The same reason you don't call everyone who kills you a cheater should be the basis for the same reason that you can ignore accusations. I too have defended people who are called hackers and I reply, "I was right on him, and heard what he did or more, and also knew where people his enemies were." Eax is simply incredible....and, as I've said before, hearing is probably 60% of my game (having no other game that leaves me with only 60 ) Sparky is going about it right. Have the guy come on in.
