  1. To play HL2 when it is released? I am still debating, I will hate myself at work if I do but it will most definately be worth it. However the servers will probably be hammered right at the get go so maybe I should go to bed now and get up at 4 or 5 and get a couple hours in before work. Decisions are tough imo.
  2. Indeed 6 hours until Steam will unlock itself and then I probably wont get much sleep before work tomorrow, if any.
  3. Yeah WI killed themselves this weekend. Oh well, Go Packers! I think the top two at this point in time should be OU and Auburn but that is just my personal thoughts.
  4. Yep, I am going to bed early tonight and setting my alarm for 1:45
  5. Any confirmation of that? I know they are a PST company(I used to live about 3 miles from Valve and have friends that work there ) but I have gotten the feeling they are trying to screw over Vivendi as much as possible which would lead me to thinking they would unlock it as soon as humanly possible. I guess it was just posted on the Steam forums that it is indeed midnight pst, looks like Im going to bed early and waking up really early
  6. I don't think they have announced the time yet, if it unlocks at Midnight EST I will be up all night playing it and go into work tomorrow as a zombie
  7. Very good read, I can really appreciate that as I know a couple Valve employees and myself have a degree in video game programming/design. Was a good read for me.
  8. I hope Auburn jumps over OK, I think they deserve it, if Auburn finishes the season unbeaten I hope they go to the Orange Bowl. Pours out a 40 for the Badgers
  9. I'm not saying that the Badgers deserve to be #1, I am saying they deserve a chance to prove they are #1 I don't think Auburn is going to go undefeated, but as far as USC, OK, WI, UT and Boise St. it is a possibility for all 5 of those teams, Auburn could do it they just have a much, much tougher road ahead of them and if they do go undefeated they certainly deserve a chance at the orange bowl.
  10. Depends on the broker and title company, my title company specializes in quick turn around and clean title. Some title companies will insure over judgements on title and take exception or anything of the sort. We require clean title to close the loan. We also mostly deal with refinances but we do purchases now and then. On a refi we can go from you walking in the broker's office on say a Monday and we could be closing your loan as early as wednesday but realistically easily closing you on Thursday or Friday. With a purchase add in a couple more days so 5-7 days shouldn't be a problem to get you closed on a purchase assuming you have a clean title and appropriate credit from the start. Broker's lie, its what they do, it doesn't really matter which broker you have they will lie to you about something and most of them try to pretend they know more than they do. Really Brokers are over glorified customer service reps. The title company does most of the work as well as the lender.
  11. np, I really only fully know the title company side of things as that is where I work. What I do know is that the lender and broker try to blame us for everything and then tell the borrower the same thing. We have to pretty much take everyone's crap That is why if you are reasonable with a title company you can usually get something out of them.
  12. Did I say Washington STate? I know it was Washington I am a big Huskies fan, granted I like Washington State too But the Badgers are still my #1 in college football.
  13. Then it must have been 90 or 91. I honestly had forgotten about the Bowl Coalition being in place before the BCS.
  14. Customers call the title company all the time, just don't be grumpy with them and usually they will help you gladly. We don't like crabby customers who try to put the blame on us. The appraisal comes from a seperate company. It is possible that your title company also does appraisals, most don't from my experience. I doubt it is the title companies fault. My theory would be the appraiser hasn't returned it to the Broker yet(as a title company you get the appraisal from the broker) and that could be because the broker forgot to order it on time, they forget to order stuff all the time. However it is possible that the title company is clearing something up on the appraisal.
  15. I thought it was somewhere in that period but maybe it was 1990 or 1991 where Washington shared the National Title with Miami(I think thats who they shared it with).
  16. I work at a title company and it isn't ever our fault if the survey isn't back on time be nice to your title company they are the ones that everyone blames for everything yet it is rarely our fault If anything it is most likely your Broker's fault. All broker's are lying evil slimey creatures and will do whatever it takes to get their loan closed so that they get their money. On the flip side the title company has to make sure the Broker doesn't get away with anything illegal because if they do it is our donkey on the line. If you want to close it in IL I will do the closing for you for free I have lots of experience.
  17. It has worked for years? The BCS championship system has only been in place what 6 or 7 years now? If that. Prior to that it was all coach/AP polls. There have been plenty of times when there has been controversy and debate over the system, a system in which you have to earn your championship in a playoff type manner leaves no questions.
  18. I know there is an Akron airport but Southwest flies from Chicago to Cleveland for $49 one way I can't say the same for Akron.
  19. That would be so good, I would prefer an 8 team playoff system but a 4 team playoff system would be better than what we currently have. I mean they could have the playoffs in mid-late december when the other bowl games go on now so that the national championship could still take place on January 4th. Also the computer systems are pretty weak imo. They take too much into account the offense of a team and not enough on the defense. Wisconsin doesn't have a powerful offense, they have a mediocre offense that is really coming together here at the end of the season. I believe they have enough offense to keep them in the game with anyone because their defense is good enough to severly hamper any offense in the league. Such a shame we may never know =\
  20. I just noticed you are from Stevens Point, Point Special is a pretty good beer imo.
  21. I can get a round trip ticket from Chicago to Cleveland for $100 before taxes, I would just come to hang out and such I wouldn't bring my PC with me just come for the social aspect of it. At this point in time I am merely tossing ideas around nothing concrete just seeing if anyone will be passing through Cleveland or be willing to pick me up, it seems to be the closest airport to the LAN. I would come in sometime late Thursday evening or early Friday morning. I would also need a ride back to the airport sometime on Monday.
  22. I'm not trashing OU or USC or Auburn, I am simply saying it is a shame that WI is on its way to going 11-0 and not even having a chance at proving themself for a national championship. I think perhaps an 8 team playoff system would work great though I am not sure you could ever have one due to the academics involved in college football and then requiring even more time away from school. If you had an 8 team playoff it would then require 2 extra games to get to the national champion status as well as it would more than likely include all undefeated teams because I just can't see there ever being more than 8 undefeated teams. I think it would be an overall better system to determine the champion than what we have now. I personally think Wisconsin has the best defense in college football right now. They shut down Purdue's pass which perhaps was overrated going in to that game but they still shut it down, they shut down MNs run offense which is one of the tops because they have 2 players who potentially get 100 yards a game and I don't think they combined for 100 yards against WI. They are also a very disciplined team looking only to each game and not looking ahead taking it one game at a time and not really getting cocky or having any attitude problems. They are operating as a team and winning as a team. I know you have Northwestern on their schedule as a weak opponent but even though they haven't won that many games they were averaging over 450 yards of offense going into the WI game and they were held to something like 250 yards. That is a huge stop imo. I think OU is a good team and the fact is when it comes down to it a win is a win even if it was a close win. OU pulled out 2 good comebacks the last 2 weeks and that is what counts in the end. I just think WI deserves a chance to prove themself against these teams and it is a shame they most likely wont have that chance.
