yea go Here and check out all the games, the grey line is the 1000 running on 4x agp. and the other is 8xagp running the cpu on 333 bus. Some games theres not much difference, others its pretty big

heh yea I bought the Asus A7N8X Deluxe less than a month ago. It has and Nvidia NIC and a 3COM NIC built in, easily setup a network between two comps. Its also got the Soundstorm sound/Dolby thing, but I dont even notice any difference.

I just thought of something....if you only have an AMD 1 GHZ. Then your motherboard is probably only 4x agp. Your card is made for 8x but will run on 4, so when you upgrade your mobo later you will really be able to see the video card perform.

I dont think its possible to turn a 9500 non pro into a 9500 pro. Considering the fact that the 9500 pro has 8 rendering pipelines and the 9500 only has 4. Here I guess it would be possible to overclock it and it might perform as well as a pro

ntelos screwed me with dsl, I ordered it and i ping 120 to EVERYWHERE! I called them up the next day and told them to cancel my subscription. They kept sending me around in circles. 20 phone calls, a bill for $350 and 3 months later they finally turned it off. Then I had to call 20 times to convince them they are wasting their time if they are trying to get me to pay for 3-4 months of service and a disconnect fee. I ended up having to pay 5 dollars in taxes

haha buy vs. build. It is really simple if you know everything, but for someone who hasnt built before, may not be. I mean if it doesnt fit, dont force it rule, works good, which means you cant screw up. But when your motherboard has jumpers on it, instead of auto detect, you can fry your poop. Like running your ram on 333 instead of 266 or setting your cpu core voltage to high, or using wrong bus speed. It used to take all day but now its pretty easy

so you have a 9500 pro in a p3-600??

hrm..do a search for AMD XP porcessors. The guy on top has a score around 18900. He is only using a ti4200 and processor at 1402.

i would say go for vid card and leave the ram for later, 256 is OK. But you should get another 256 sometime down the road just for your systems sake. I doubt you would see any great video performance increase if you got 256 more system RAM. 256RAM + 9500 pro > 512RAM + 32 meg card. 128 ram is pretty much todays video card standard and if you only have 1/4th of that(32), then it should be obvious why your 3d mark score is so low

check out some of these links and benchmarks 9500 pro overclocked Graphics card superguide All in theres two top brands ATI and NVIDIA the 9500 pro is supposed to compete with nvidia ti4200, but as you can see by overclocking it, its able to outperforms nvidias top of the line ti4600. The overclocked 9500 pro even outperformed the 9700 in one test! i would suggest this Video cards you can a regular 9500 pro for 182 there, suped up cost about 30 more, but it would cost you at least 30 bucks to add the grease and heatsink and fan. Whatever you go with, go with the Geforce4 Ti series, or raedon 9500-9700 series. BIf you go with a 100 dollar card, then it probably go obsolete faster.

The score is pretty much all in your video card, but if you dont have the other hardware(such as RAM and CPU) to push your card, your gonna get lower performance

heres my experiance witht the scores First setup - XP 1800+ ECS mobo 768 DDR GF4 MX440 - 64 megs 3800 score I got a new mobo so the setup was XP 1800+ Asus A7N8X 768 DDR 2100 GF4 MX440 - 64 megs 5800 But with the new mobo I had my processor overclocked to 1.71 Ghz instead of the 1.53 which is a normal 1800+. And I was overclocking my video card and I could pull 6100 tops. The processor speed didnt matter as much. I found that you get higher numbers by overclocking your video card. I have a overclocked 9500pro on the way. So the setup will be 1800+ 768 DDR Asus mobo 9500 pro (overclocked) score...coming soon

yea but by the time i put the artic3 grease, heatsink and fan it would have cost about the same or more and i would have had to spend all the time getting the updated bios and flashing it. So i thought id go the easy way.

hrm..I havent watched it, but i would say 5 minutes 225 megs = compressed with divx codec but at 10000 bit rate, which is extremely high quality
