Could be a partial (gg CSS). So what are some good rates? I will go and add them into my config, although I really think this is a verizon issue. WHAT THE HECK!! When I goto the Verizon test site, I get 10M speeds. Could it be the number of packets I am sending on CSS are greater than they allow for normal "browsing" ???

I will try reloading drivers. The comp is an AMD 1800 and ATi 9800Pro on an Asus NVIDIA MoBo. The comp sucks, but I was playing fine just a week or so ago, thats the problem. btw, Im thinking that I need to just call Verizon, because other players in the game are noticing it, I am all laggy looking to them. So...lemme call Verizon when I get a chance (har har), maybe that will help.

FPS about 35, which is avg for my horrible comp. They arent dipping (which has always happened in a firefight, smoke, etc. for me), they are hanging around 35. It is just...choppy. Really choppy. Oh, and when I first join, my ping is like 800, then slowly drops to a low level, always way under 100.

Anyone know why my CSS lags sooooo badly?? Even my ping drops really low, but CSS is really choppy for me now...so bad I cant even play. Doesnt matter what server, either. Plus I have REALLY good internet now (FiOS). This just randomly started, no new comp stuff and Ive been happy with FiOS for weeks now. Oh, and when I test my online speed using the verizon link (IExplorer), its super fast. Plz help this nub?

Good call on both Maggie. I picked up an open box Onkyo TXSR503 for $120 from Fry's and I love it. You could also buy a refurbed reciever from Onkyo, I wouldnt worry about it. I got Infinity speakers from Circuit City when they were dumping the label for about what you can find them for at Vanns. I love them...I am not an audiophile, so to me they completely rock. Reciever and speakers for about $700 is a pretty hott deal, my only nice® piece is my BIC H100, which will shake the paintings off the walls. I second the emotion...notion...er, motion....get as nice a reciever as you can, and then build slowly from there.

r u sure you didnt hook up the sound from your DVD player into the "component in" on your TV? FYI, upscaling DVD players can be had for about $100 now. The technology takes an SD input and "adds" lines to it in order to create an HD type image. Think of it as HD lite. Dont get me started on tru HD DVD stuff... Mag, I agree with BGB, except I have heard of them going for $300. Ack, its like you have to be a PhD just to buy electronics anymore...but, two giant TVs and 1 surround sound system later...I think I am done for awhile!
