The thing is that everything in doom 3 has it's own shadow.
So a light source that moves is gonna have a real effect on everything in an area.
You not gonna see this is a screenshot.
You would have to fire up the game and see it in motion.
No game out has better lighting and shadowing than Doom 3.
You can argue other games do, but it would be silly.
What drivers you all running>?
I'm having no problems with the catalyst 4.7's.
With and without AA and AF.
Service Pack 1.
Direct X 9 B.
[AMD Athlon XP 3000+]-[ABIT NF7-S]-[1024MB Crucial PC3200]-[Radeon 9800XT]-[sB Audigy]
Thx for the ips man.
Sorry i wasn't talking back to you in game, but I had some winamp blasting in the background and was afraid to exit and try to turn it off.
This game is gonna be so sweet.
Last time I had this much fun playing in a sand box I was 4.
good advice.
I get 90FPS without AA and AF @ 1024x768.
Please note that the Video test doesn't really stress your video card at all.
No action takes place in the test.
Locked mine too.
Tried it again and it took forever to load the thing.
Ended up getting thru the test though.
got 75FPS @ 1024x768 w/ 2xAA and 4xAF.
Still cant connect to a single server.
Made my own though and the game is gonna be sweet.
Good move on their part to allow people to see how their current setups will run HL2.
Seems poor Gabe feels he had to go to all the trouble of doing it though.
Like he didn't expect everyone to ask how it was gonna run on their systems.
Good news for shore though.
It's sad that people can go play the hacked version, but people that actually paid money to play are being held up cause valve thinks it's cool to be a tease.
Steam can go places, but they seem afraid to use it to its full potential.
If you have played FarCry, Joint Ops, and Painkiller then I would take a lil' break and wait for Halflife 2.
Call of Duty was good.
BF: Vietnam was kinda fun too.
Here is the order in which I visit sites for general hardware.
1. Newegg
2. Zipzoomfly(formerly googlegear)
3. Mwave
If im shopping for a harddrive I go to Zipzoomfly. Mostly because they always have the best deals on Hitachi drives(the only drives I buy).
I would rather be in a paradise gone wrong, then to be in hell.
But Doom 3 had a better single player experience. Although FarCry may have better multi player, but that's not saying much for either game's multiplayer.
