the apature size is more for using system memory instead of video RAM. Most system memory is going to be slower than video so you don't want to use it for games. I believe, I say that cause I'm not an expert, that the apature is only used when there are more items to store in video ram than your card can handle. Thus for cards with more ram this won't help...it might hurt if your card decides to offload ram because it's there. In reading I found that setting too low won't matter as they system kinda takes it anyway. I do believe that this is kinda like a bios shadow and that setting it does allocate the ram...not sure on this though. So, if it does help you thats awesome...I, like Batman, didn't notice a difference.

I'd help the neighbor secure his network first. I keep helping my neighbors lock theirs down. MAC address is about the best lockdown but I also use encryption here. If the guy is wide open the problem is that someone can use his line to send child porn & it will appear to come from his house...not good. Chances are you would be safe but then again...your trusting your computer (or their computer in this case) to another person...plus it is illegal since they would be stealing broadband.

I worked for a guy a while ago who told this story. He used to go help his buddy with his computer problems. One day they guy calls & says that he wanted to restore some files but his backup disk was blank. So, my boss went over to his house & said "Show me how you do your backups". The guy goes through all the steps...putting the disk in...running the backup program...when it's done he takes the disk out and sticks it to the side of the fridge with a magnet.

I read somewhere that the Hydrogen in the cars tank would disperse so fast in a wreck that it would not become a bomb. Not sure about the filling stations though...thats quite a bit more Hydrogen. There are cities (or at least 1) in California that are using Fuel Cell cars for their fleet...course they have the ability to house their own stations. This could be an avenue...I think we can get a much quicker bang for our buck on the Hybrids and it will be much easier for the consumers to get on board with.
