    Tupac Shakur

Vivid Portraits of my Mind At the Age of 25 I still remember that day... Fall was well on its way. It began in an ordinary way no different than today. I popped in a CD and let it play. I listened to what you had to say. I slumped back in my couch, resting in a slouch. I absorbed as much as I could and fell into your groove. Time progressed and before long nightfall was coming along. I could barely see the light, but it was holding on with all of its might. My session was complete; a sample of your inspiration was a treat. As my stereo fell silent and my crystal ball came to life. That is how it all began, too much for me to understand. An idol to me how could this be? At the age of 25, caught in the middle of genocide. At the age of 25, I assumed it was a homicide. At the age of 25, I too can see through your eyes. At the age of 25, yes, you should still be alive. The streets we shared gave me sight. You were the one who powered the light. A stranger to me... a stranger to you... All my dreams faded away on this day. When you were robbed in a violent way. Only one had the authority to say it was your day. God didn't want you that way! Like a thief in the night you were taken away. Whose choice was it to say? I now see the irony of Poetic Justice. On that night you really touched us. From then on, in that too, I believed. Your visions and your talents were easy to see. You were a hero to many, even me. So... when I heard the news. It gave me the blues. I didn't want it to be true. Because I knew there was nothing I could do. So... I bowed my head to pray for you. I asked the LORD to guide and protect you through your journey. And to comfort your family with an embrace. And to keep them all safe and warm well after the storm. Your legacy will live on in our hearts, where you have become a vital part. In loving memory of Tupac Amaru Shakur. May you forever rest in peace! -June 16, 1971-September 13, 1996- September 24, 1996, © 1996, B.E. Negret
  4. Vivid Portraits of my Mind Assassinated in a By This is Insanity, A voice in my head said to me! It saddened me to see just how cruel humanity can be. Gonna take an eternity for this to make sense to me. In retrospect, I needed some time to reflect. Another heinous and senseless crime. A wound that will never heal, not even in time. It all seemed like dejavu, wished, it was not true. Took some time to accept that it was you. On that cold and brutal night. You did not even have a chance to fight. Without reason, Without warning, .......left everyone mourning. Shameless, that the perpetrator remains nameless. Assassinated in a drive by, our tears won’t lie. Assassinated in a drive by, this is why we cry. Assassinated in a drive by, wish you were still alive. Assassinated in a drive by, way too young to die. Oh God! Why? Assassinated in a drive by. “Life After Death, you still “Hypnotize us. As the lyrical poet you amazed us with your thesis. Kept us in awe as you kept the tracks raw. Always knew what to expect, watched you flexx. Even though you are gone, still, “Can’t Nobody hold you down! You told us that you won’t stop! You will always be on top! I know you have “Been Around the World. And the “Family, “Will be Missing you as I will too! “No Way Out because you will always be living your “Life After Death. So many people care is what I wanted to share. Biggie, Biggie can’t you see! The Notorious One you were. The Notorious one you are. The Notorious B.I.G. you will always be! How can this be? We all love you Biggie! Every day I pray for you, your family, and all who know you. Even though it is hard to know, I just had to let it flow! Cause in our hearts you will always and forever grow! All the sincere empathy within my heart goes out to you! Even though, you, I may never know in my heart you will forever grow! Now he is at peace for he is in Gods’ care. Now he is at rest as Gods’ hands embrace him. Now there is no pain for God protects him. Now there is nothing better than God to shelter him. Always know, he will never be alone for he is in our thoughts, in our hearts and Gods’ company each and everyday! And now you will be playing on the biggest stage of all. So just remember to stand tall and rock that ball! © by B.E. Negret ...all rights reserved! In Loving Memory of Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G., Wallace. 1972-1997 This dedication goes out to all the people who knew and loved Biggie. Especially his Mother, Wife, Children, Sean P. 5. I love christmas music, what are you guy's favorite songs?
  6. anyone read this? It's a free e-book by Scott Adams (the guy who writes Dilbert). It's a "thought experiment" intended to create philosophical discussion...quite interesting so far. find it here: http://www.andrewsmcmeel.com/godsdebris/
  7. 4/4 Stars Best and most dark of the 4 Potter movies. I think this one is worth seeing in theaters. Personally I feel that each Potter movie has been better then the one before it.
  8. Never saw the original cartoon series, see the movie's coming out shortly and the trailer looks good (nothing to do with Charlize Theron .......... honest). Aeon Flux Movie Site Anyone know much about it?
  9. Hackers Staring Angelina Jolee Talk about a mixture of old school and movie drempt computer nonsense. I watched this cause it was in my fiance's movie collection. Half the time I laughed at the clothes, half the time I laughed at the plot. Just listening to them talk about computers almost make me embarrased that hollywood wouldn't do more research on actuall computer "lingo." It's like being in the military and watching som half baked war movie and not wanting to tear the whole thing apart, you cant take it serously. Still if you want an old school laugh, try that $2.00 rental and a cheap beer.
  10. Ain't God just an overhyped david blaine? Respekt
  11. He's one of the greatest country music artists. Glad to see him back out of retirement. His new box set comes out soon. I'm tempted to get it, despite that I have some of those CD's. ANyone planning to get it?

    Chicken Little

THis was actually a really good movie. Very funny for a Disney cartoon. Lots of adult humor but nothing that will poison your kids into warshipping the devil or wanting to be lame.... JUST KIDDING. Seriously though, great movie. I laughed a lot and the story is actually very cute. 5/5 from me.
  13. Let me begin this rant by saying that I can be super cheap. But, I have to be. I am 20, married, welcoming a son to the world soon, and buying a house. I forgot to mention that I don't like nibbling.... I apparently like to bite off just about as much as I can chew. I recently received a promotion at work, and switched back to night shift (7 pm - 4:30 a.m. for you lucky 9-5ers). So my income is pretty good at this point. Things are tight. But at the end of the month, we end up ahead, somehow. Now the point of this rant, for whoever reads this far, is about the cost of entertainment. Not the "stick a $20 in the nice ladies undergarments" entertainment, but good old family entertainment. 5 adults went to the movie the other night (one of us was only 14, but didn't have a student ID on them). Tickets to movie = $8.50 X 5 = $42.50 1 Medium soda, 2 Large sodas, and a Large popcorn = ~$22.50 For those non-math types, that brings a grand total of about $65 for 2 hours worth of entertainment. Luckily, everyone was fairily entertained with the movie. For that price, you can't afford to make the mistake of choosing a bad movie. Movie rentals are slightly better. But by the time a movie is available to rent, everyone and their grandmother has told you about every funny/cool/scary moment. The sad thing is, this does not only apply to movies. Any experienced parents on a budget have some insight into affordable entertainment? Luckily, St. Louis has a lot of free places to go such as their zoo, science center, art museum. Without those, I think my parents would have gone broke!
  14. Just saw Romero's land of the Dead. Supposed to be his last "dead" movie. Dennis Hopper was good in it. John Leguizamo was good too. Asia Argento looks good as always (her dad Dario made all sorts of horror movies in europe). The "Dead Reckoning" vehicle was nifty. All in all its worth a rent. Other "dead" movies are still going to be made but George is retiring. I do like this gal!
  15. First movie I am going to see in theaters since Batman Begins, looks awesome.
  16. I just saw the 2nd saw movie and I enjoyed it. Not as creative of an ending as the first and some plot holes keep it just below par of the original, but overall it still was good. 2.5/4 Stars
  17. Alright, I'll admit that I am a Tv-On-DVD Junkie....I LOVE good television shows when I can get the DVD's of them and watch them all in a row at my leisure. That said, at the recommendation of Joss Whedon I got the show Veronica Mars on DVD from Netflix. At first, this looked like EVERY OTHER teenage drama like the OC and Dawson's Creek and the 50-billion other shows just like them...but the show turned out to be much better than I expected. It's alot darker than I expected, and the character of Veronica Mars is FAR from a typical high-school girl character. I highly enjoy this show and have purchased the first season on DVD (and am almost done with it). I recommend it to anyone who enjoys good tv in general.
  18. After the 68 orginal and 85 sequel They pretty much sucked the brown wind of doom. George Romero must be rolling around in his grave (even though hes not dead). Their both on tonight on the SciFi channel if you guys wanna watch anyway. Otherwise avoid this crap.
  19. This is one of the movies where i dont want to spoil anything because its actually one of the better horror movies we've had in awhile. But basically think courtroom drama mixed with small horror stories that really make you think and try to piece the events together and make sense of what exactly happened to the girl in question. For anyone who's into mystery or supernatural or just plain scary stuff its a very fun trip.. possession is always fun and the actress playing the lead is *superb* .. some of the scenes are very dramatic and increadibly scare, but thankfully thats not all it is - theres a Solid plot here.. a story that goes along with it and the courtroom aspect adds a 'law&order' element. Overall, i'd give this a 9/10 .. its one of the best horror movies released in awhile i think.. At its preface its a court trail where they explain the events and let you draw your own conclusions, even more so some of the events they show you are downright disturbing and quite scary, especially the last half of the film. A bit of courtroom + a bit of possession horror = awesome.. atleast thats the way in my book Sometimes it can drag a bit, and the movie develops more-so around the story of *what the heck happened to this kid* .. as opposed to focusing on the personality of the characters.. so for some it might drag a little bit, but overall its a very satisfying experience - doubly so when you consider the lack of decent horror movies as of late.
  20. I saw no one had posted this yet. This movie made me laugh from start to almost-finish (the ending left me going wth). It is VERY crude - just a warning to those who may not like lots of swearing and sexual innuendos. It is quite funny though in its own crude way and well worth the price of admission if you like a good crude comedy. We gave it a 90/100.
  21. Anyone else a fan of the multiple Gundam series? I love ther mech designs, not too found of the cahracters, but the mobile suits (the mechs) are always a hoot to watch fight.
  22. any fans? They are on tour with weezer but I can't go to the show cause there's a football game that night :-(
  23. Anyone besides me remember Dr. Who? Its an old BBC series I watched when I was a kid. The last one I watched was The Many faces of Dr. Who. Theres supposed to be a movie coming out. Dont know whos the star they chose to be Dr. Who. Anyone have any info?
  24. Seems to be a general shortage of good horror movies. I mean the good not so gory kinda scarey. Anyone know about any news ones comin out? Checked out WWW.UHM.COM.
  25. Brandon Routh as Superman? Kevin Spacey as L. Luthor? Wonder how thats gonna turn out.
