Guest zerodamage July 28, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests July 28, 2004 btw, that is not a stupid question at all. That naming scheme is confusing. Those cards are like the 9600xt and 9200 I believe. Very low end now.

Birdman July 28, 2004 Share Birdman Member July 28, 2004 (edited) Those cards are like the 9600xt and 9200 I believe. Very low end now. A Nvidia 5950 is not a low end card. It was the best card Nvidia offered until the new line of 6800's, and can be directly compared to the ATI 9800XT. A Radeon X300 shouldn't be considered in the same sentance as a 5950. 5950 is a much, much better card. Edited July 28, 2004 by Birdman

Dennis July 28, 2004 Author Share Dennis Member July 28, 2004 will the x300 be ok with most games? and will it be ok for UT2004, doom3,CS2,HL2? i played CS today and had a solid 60fps...so im thinking it will be ok.
All Kill3r July 28, 2004 Share All Kill3r Member July 28, 2004 yea i would guess so. My 9500 played cs, bf1942, farcry, etc.. struggled a little with some of the games but i could play them at playable frames.

"20% faster then a 9800XT" Price tag - $199 That sounds like a nice deal. Its an 8 pipe 128meg card.
Crowbar August 13, 2004 Share Crowbar Member August 13, 2004 I've been wondering about how the new gen cards compare with the older cards. Where does the 9800 Pro fit in to the lineup with the new cards?

Birdman August 13, 2004 Share Birdman Member August 13, 2004 6600GT is gonna be as fast as a 9800XT(which was 500 bucks last fall). The 6600GT is gonna be 200 bucks. Great deal. Here's the catch. AGP 6600GT's won't be on retail shelves till October.
