Ive sat here almost every night with my finger on the mouse ready to hit the purchase button on Steam for HL2, then right befor i do my wife says "I got something for Corinne today for xmas, one less thing" and my finger moves off the mouse button..

 

Having to tell my wife, hey i just spent 55 bucks on a game and then i hear "dont you have games you havent beaten yet?".. If i buy it, it will be a few days befor it shows up on the bank and in that time ill be telling myself "you better tell her".. Sure we are a single income family with 3 kids but if daddy wants a new game to make him happy then so be it.. But then i think xmas is right around the corner and the wife's bday is on 12-9..

Its a great game. But it will still be great when you are able to afford it. And it will most likely come down in price.

Do what I do.. put something of mild value on ebay.. or a few things to cover the cost.

Buy it for your wife for her birthday, tell her you want to start including her in your gaming experience, she'll say thanks but no thanks , and your in!!

 

Just don't tell her I told you to do it
