Not trying to say anthing about Sword6, but the reason you mentioned new skins in the first place is because someone said they had a hard time telling Ts from CTs.  And you said to use a different skin.  So obviously, they do give you a bit of an advantage over the old skins or you wouldn't have bothered to mention them.

No not at all actually, there is no advantage to skinning something to make it different more so than your own team. Your not supposed to be shooting them in the first place lol, and no offence taken i know what your saying. No Ill tell you this. My terrorists are the Elite Terrorists, in all black and camo. Now the do stand out differently from the CT' so you can tell them apart, as per normal however they DO NOT make them easier to see like is they were all fluorecent blue or pink from a distance or in dark places. When it is darker they are still dark like the normal ones, and I sometimes still do pop my own team mistaking them for T's. But it does make them different than CT's enough so you SHOULD be able to tell them apart. IF that clarifies. I know it helps others, but my OWN reasons for doing it is as I said above in my previous post for more detail and better graphics. If that helps you understand me anymore.

Speaking of Pop-up labels, I personally think the only names you should ever see of any color period is that of your own team.  Soldner for example will not allow you to see the name label of anyone other than your teamates, this way, no name means no enemy. That way it prevents cursor scanning. (running your mouse cursor over dark or concealed areas untill you see enemy tags pop-up)  This should be employed with CS Source immediatly as already there are people suggestion this method to other players. I do like more of a real based game, so NO to the color them all Red and Blue.  But CS Source should have matured.  It is still a game of patience and outthinking your oponents, but this method of scanning takes away from flashlights, and NV in darkplaces.  And leaves room to rob someone of setting up a well deserved ambush they set up.  Windows people who are further back so that players cannot see them to well are purely thwarted by running your mouse cursor over the window and wait for red to pop up ( or blue )  So thats my stance.  The Cursor thing, totally hurt bf1942 till they offered and official way to shut it off.  Wish they had it here.

"It's a legitimate stratagy!" *runs off*

if someone found a way to mod the night vision so that it was heat vision though, that would be uber. i know it's not exactly feasable, thats a big jump. but hey, it would be cool.

modify it, they need to fix it all they are doing in leaving the light levlesin place and are applying a green lens to it, the whole role of NV is light amplification, there is a reason a pilot can see miles while using NV goggles, which are the EXACT same model as the ground troops, this needs to be fixed.

The only problem is the more realistic they make night vision, the less you'll see on most maps. i had the opportunity to try a pair of night vision goggels once, the woods were bright as day, and when i looked back at a light in the town, i went blind in greeness. unless you have an all balck map, then nv would pick up the littlest lightbulb and blind you.

and i thought you could make the current NV brighter with the cammand +NvGadjust but it never works.

Ok i cannot atest to the conditions in your examination of NV goggles, I am apt to wonder what type you were using if it be civilian or what not. I am ex military and have done law enforcement, and surveillance for many many years, and have worked with NV as long as I have partners lol. I can tell you that what you described is from flare. This is what happens on low end equipment who compensate on imaging deficiancy with light gain. Meaning low quality = Low vision. The truth is that an CT team or military unit has very good quality NV gear that even when confronted by lightning, or sudden bright lights they are 60% filtered out to appear no more polluting to your overall image as anything would in daylight. The NV gear in the game isn't even cheap NV, when there are residual ambient light sources to gain light amplification from the dark areas are still as dark as they would normally be. Shadows still conceal, and mind you at range IRL this happens sure, but not in areas within 500m, this is unheard of. If that were the case, then the US military would no have oriented there entire military basis to fight at night with superior night vision.

Anyway Just food for thought.

So is he cripple.

I'm sorry Sword, but if you're having problems telling the skins apart so you change them, that IS giving you an advantage. If your models are smaller than the in game models, that IS giving you an advantage. You can try to justify it anyway you want, skinning is for the most part pointless, and most people that use it are using it for what it is - an outright advantage.

On names popping up: If you die because of that, you have some serious problems.. however my complaint about it (and always has been..) is that it makes no scoping much easier than it should be, and takes a lot of skill out of the shot.

Ok so your in Canada, that isn't the point at all, the US military is the worlds most leading nation when it comes to night warfare, they choose to due to their capabilities over other nations. We are refereing to qaulity, you missed the point of my post completey.

Then your a fool if you think I get an advantage from that, you obviously didn't read my post. My skins make it HARDER to see the people on the other team, not easier, there colors blend cause i use HIGH poly and texture skins, putting my cts rather in olive drab into full camo with different vest modeling helps me how? Makes them blend into the natural surroundings makes it easier?... When did I say I had trouble telling them apart, the other guy is having the problem not me. Please read before you attack next time. I am simply stating my computer and graphics support higher resoloutions, so i skin to use them to their full ability. How does my having a ultra high detailed models or skins give me an advantage, or that my drink machine being turned into a pepsi machine make it easier for me, its personal taste is all, so spare me your moral judgements on how I am somehow taking advantage of the game by adding detail? I choose more realistic models and skins because i enjoy the look of them, not to make it easy. If I wanted easy then in dust I would have left the ct's and the t's there natural colors, cause they standout like a sore thumb in the desert textures, my desert camo ct's blend in, and so do my high poly t's. You obviously don't skin, never tried it, nor ever will, my question to you then is if you have never done it, how can you judge those that do? Further Models being smaller? HUH? what are you talking about, smaller models on characters? Weapons? how does this gimme and advantage? I am simply talking about things like the Deagle. I hate it, always have and alway will, i simply re-modeled it to be an M1911? so how again is this cheating? Man the more you talk about this the less you sound like you know. If i were ABLE to make the player models smaller how would that help me? Wouldnt it make it harder for me to target them? I mean it don't change anyone elses models only mine, and there is still mimimum criteria for size my friend. They have to fit certain guidelines. When i talk models i am talking adding cosmetic touches to vests, helmets and such for looks, and if your worried i can see more of the screen i am running a 21 inch monitor, I see alot as is in 1600x 1200 so I guess that makes me a cheater as well right? Why don't you start posting about the ACtUAL cheats in the game like hacks, and scripting. like auto pistols, and adjustable bursts and multiple frag carrier hacks. This is justwasting good forums space and is pointless over a suggestion.

And the names popping up, well lets see, your in a almost completly dark duct, with almost no light, and without your flashlight you cant see the T hiding at the end...you run your cursor over the area, despite still not seeing the T and his name pops up in bright red, and you cap him, how is that not cheap and taking away from him finding a good spot, his actions never game him away, his name tag did. That is not helping the game out when intead of using your flashlight, or NV you can scan around dark or hidden areas waiting for tags to reveal players. That by far does more to hurt the game, and there are thousands who agree with me, so much so thay most new games only allow you to see tags of allies so those who are hiding in bushes and are setting up abmushes in games arent given away by someon just seeing a blue or red name tag as opposed to spotting the player himself.

Food for thought.

I have the slver skin pack installed... It's pretty.  Installs new skins for the Ts and CTs..  And it's pretty.

Exactly, you simply like the look of the items, or players skins you change, but I guess that silver barrel allows you magic super ultras skinning mondo super player killing powers right.. right! Simply not, you use them as I use them for the look and nothing more, despite some who preach that all were doing is cheating with them.

And your absoloutly right, the silver pack is very pretty.

I never have, and never will see the point to 'skinning' a game.

The way I see it, most people that do it are looking for an advantage, and I don't see how it adds any enjoyment to the game at all.

See PDO i wasn't going to come out swinging when you said this, but you are generalizing me, and that I do not like, saying I must be LOOKING for an advantage. Your implying cause i like to reskin I am cheating in some way, and that is purely offensive. People use buy scripts to make there purchase go faster for them so they can buy specific kits, others use scripts to cheat, but if I said "People who use scripts are cheaters!" Then i would look like a fool, because that lumps those who are not cheating with those that do. You need to reflect more and stop sterotyping people because you can't see nor understand a point to something. There is a reason why people using PB and other anitcheat programs are not booted despite skinning, because the makers of those programs, and VAC do not see changing a famas into an L85 or changing someones green Ct outfits into the German GSG9 camos as cheating. Just think on that some more, you may not see the point, and I do respect that, but don't ever try to lead a charge against me, nor paint me as the badguy cause your misguided enough to say that I am acting to further my means in the game...simply put I don't cheat. Lol and if you bothered to check the rankings I am like 15th from the bottom, so my scores tend to side with me, I can play well, and have my moments, but i go down as quick and as easy as you do in the game.

Yawn.

1) I'm not leading a charge against you, you're over-reacting.

2) I was referring to the size of your gun, in making it smaller there is a minute chance you'd see someone that could've been covered by your gun. For most players it's not an issue, but there is a rare occurance it could happen, and there were commands people used in previous versions of counter-strike to have no gun models at all.

3) If you're in a "dark spot" (gamma, anyone?) and someone is scanning it for the name tag, why on earth are you not shooting at the guy?

4) You're the one that suggested to someone having trouble telling the differences between T's and CT's to skin, not me.

5) Sorry, but pretty much any command that you can't change through use of something like the CPL Gui is something that I would consider cheating. Whether it's cl_bob 0 or having your rates change while you're running around, it's all the same to me.

1. You only see what you want to see, and your accusing me of cheating, if i could post screens here somehow i would show you pics of my skins.

2. Ok now your reaching i have never not seen anyone cause my gun blocked me

3. Upping gamma so you can see in the dark is the cheapest of all things, designers make dark to be dark, hence NV and flashlights, notice you never suggested using those.

4. How am I suggesting it, someone posted here saying they were having trouble I simply replied.

5. See I really dont know what your talking about the only thing i know in GUI is net-graph i dont know what your on about Bob or whoever. Skinning is only cheating when you paint your characters all bright pink or stupid stuff like that. Skinning is NOT cheating, people who use them bright skins to cheat are alos using alot more on there system than those like aimbots, and whatever, post a poll here, and anywhere else you like I will welcome it. Nothing gets changed in the GUI with skinning pal.

And finally again you never responded to the questions in my post, like how is making a drink machine a pepsi machine cheaing? How is chaning a famas to an L85 cheating? Perhaps you would like to tell me what I can wear while implaying to, my T Shirt might offer me a bit more movement, than yours, or my computer chair allows me to rest my hand in a better postion than you so i must be cheating :nono: Just dont judge people cause they get something out of the game different than you do, im all bout nice graphics, and detail period, end of story. It takes skill and art to make a nice replacment skin, and I choose to admire the art and talent of other people. You don't and thats fine, but NEVER say im cheating becasue of it, learn what your talking about. I dare you to go to all the people on CS skins, and HL2 files and tell them that those skins there are cheating, see what happnes. See how they treat people who post stupid reflective skins and those dumb mon colored ones, they get flamed. If it wasn't for gamers dreaming about changing the main game, redoing skins, models, sounds, mods, CS wouldn't exist!! Remeber that.

I also dont recall an apology for insinuating im cheating.

1) F5 is the screenshot button, enjoy. Unless your models are *Exactly* the same except in high detail, there is a good chance on a different map it will give you an advantage, whether or not you intend for it is irrelvant.

2) Depends on your angle, I know it's rare but it *could* happen. There have been players banned from CAL for using that command (admittingly, usually along with SEVERAL others).

3) How's it cheap? This game isn't about hiding in a dark corner, and it's an option listed right in your basic controls. Mine personally is default, but once again.. this game isn't the game you're thinking it is.

4) http://www.gamrs.co/forums/in...ndpost&p=199951

5) So, skinning isn't cheap if the only map you ever play is dust and yomake all of your players in Arctic Cameo?

You're taking this far too personally, so at the risk of myself getting warned, I'm going to let this go.

Pop up names are good and bad.

It's good because it allows me to find strangefamous and smack him in the face with a smoke grenade because I rule.

Downside, the odd time someone close by can spot me, not because they recognized me, but because they scanned over the area I was in and my named poped up quickly. When someone has a brain fart, they deserve be stabbed in the head from behind.

As for no recoil scripts, buy scripts, skins, yadda, I consider them all advantages.

I call aimbots, wallhacks cheating...

Not no-recoil, I meant burst fire. My bad.

I've seen the script all over including the steam forums.

You can turn certain guns into the famas secondary fire basically...

I guess it's like binding Mouse1 to +shoot 3 times and a pause.

BLAH, you know what I mean. :P

Ah, I see.

That's very borderline.. I'd like to see Valve figure out how to stop keys from binding to multiple commands like that. (ie: The kids that had the binds so that after an AWP shot it'd switch to deagle and back to awp instantly for the next shot).

If you ask ANY of your guildmates they will tell you in a great multitude i do far more than hide in any dark corner. I snipe or camp to defend my objectives 1 in 5 if even that much, I love assaulting, do assualting and die assaulting. So dont tell me i dont understand the game, I have played this game scince its birth. I know the game, so please do start telling me what i know or how i play, your never on the server. I am on at least 2 to 3 times a day.

And no, at no time on any map does my skins give me and advantage, I use pakloader, which loads the skins to match the terrain were in by each map.

I do know how to take screens, np at all, I cannot seem to find where they put them, nor do i know how to POST the screens here. So please enough I will never agree with you, you don't even play with me when I am on, nearly a 10th of what other GC do, and frankly I have outgrown trying to convince you not everyone is a cheater or trying to get a leg up. My scores reflect that alone. Fact is there is 1000 other things at work against CS like bunny jumping headshot Awp'ers and the like who score rounds like 23 and 1 that need attention, then hacks, imbalance, angles in the game, the list goes on before you even need to look at someone wanting to change the graphics. Its a pointless arguement, and mind you one that you started, so here it is, I am ending it.

oh and PS from the other post

I am not taking this personally, but I do not like the implication that you think I am trying to cheat or get an unfair advantage. I take pride in the fact that I buy (A FULL RETAIL COPY) of every game I own, and have not even once, used a cheat in anything. I left the first CS due to cheaters killing it, I agree with your passion to this, but you are crafting a scenario here that I think wastes your time and mine and should be better directed and things that kill the game, don't you agree?
