Guest The Hurricane January 8, 2003 Share Guest The Hurricane Guests January 8, 2003 ok... this doesn't make sense... Griffin Run is having a SALE on their 16 player public servers for 160 dollars a month. OR you could get a 20 player server from recon gamer for 29.99 a month... 16 players.. 20 players... 160 dollars/mo... 29.99/mo... is recon gamer really THAT bad? or is Griffin Run really THAT good? mrX January 8, 2003 Share mrX GC Alumni January 8, 2003 You're prolly looking at a private, always passworded, recon server....check out the public ones, they're a bit more.

Hendryx January 8, 2003 Share Hendryx Member January 8, 2003 Yeah, GriffinRun wants 45 bucks for a 20 person server for a DAY. I've never played on a griffinrun server so i cant say they're any better, but for that price, they better be!
Ak2786 January 8, 2003 Share Ak2786 Member January 8, 2003 Ya a recongamer 20 player is $85 and griffin is 160 for 16....geez
DJ Premier January 9, 2003 Share DJ Premier Member January 9, 2003 I've played on GriffinRun servers before I found [Mmmm]Tango T1 They can support 32 player games with very smoooooooth pings. I've never seen one of their servers go down. I really dont think they are worth it for 10 man match servers.
Guest Mossad January 9, 2003 Share Guest Mossad Guests January 9, 2003 my 12 man game daemons is 60/mth. Their public 20 man servers are 230. These are high quality servers...you'll never play on anything so smooth.
Zeabos January 9, 2003 Share Zeabos Member January 9, 2003 I played 32 person PVK in a griffinrun server with a 50 ping its insane how good they are. But its not really that worth it.
ConGregation January 9, 2003 Share ConGregation Member January 9, 2003 I dont know... A great pinging server is a mighty nice thing to have. Gamedaemons and Griffin Run give you what you pay for if your able and willing. We just arent able =(. Try out intensity. We think the pings there are close to the elite gaming servers. Maybe not quite as good but a step better than recon.
Fatty January 9, 2003 Share Fatty GC Founder January 9, 2003 UGS runs on uunet, same network as griff.
Guest The Hurricane January 9, 2003 Share Guest The Hurricane Guests January 9, 2003 UGS is what?
DJ Premier January 9, 2003 Share DJ Premier Member January 9, 2003 It's not only about network but how they set it up. GriffinRun doesn't seem to overload their servers like say...recongamer. Remember those ping spikes on Foxtrot? That wasn't caused by their network, it was caused by overloaded servers. They ran those things so bad that they had to put a CPU monitor on their server management site for US to monitor. HA!
Guest Mossad January 9, 2003 Share Guest Mossad Guests January 9, 2003 its also cause recon gamer runs their servers on windows based machines, rather than linux.
