soul .gc July 26, 2005 Share soul .gc Member July 26, 2005 My wife and kids loved it - I fell asleep through part of it. I am a big fan of the Gene Wilder version ao maybe that was it. I just thought there were some areas lacking in how Charlie wins. I did like the dry humor quite a bit though. 75/100 from me 85/100 from my family

Sir Shertown Pimp July 26, 2005 Share Sir Shertown Pimp Member July 26, 2005 anything with wilder is gold IMO. Blazing saddles and Hear no Evil See No evil are two great ones.

Norguard July 28, 2005 Share Norguard Member July 28, 2005 I'm with you on this one, Soul. ...I didn't fall asleep, but I just don't feel it stacks up to Mr. Wilder. Just finished reading his so-called "autobiography", "Kiss me Like a Stranger". It was a really interesting read for somebody who's also into acting and that lifestyle. If not, some parts may be a little bland, but the personal stories are all written really warmly, and it comes off with every bit of Gene's charm. The man really is a warm and touching genious. One of my all-time favourites, and still one of the people I use as a measuring stick and mentor, every time I'm on-stage.
