Hypocritical server title

Don't mistake me for needlessly trying to pick bones. But some people consider some thing in this world to be sacred. Fight club is a movie that I take seriously. I went into onwe of your servers today so flippantly called "Project Mayhem", and noticed that there was no cussing or porn sprays. I demand an explanation for this nauseating display of delusion.

This is just what I expected. I asked a serious moal question, and I get a bunch of children quipping worn out phrases at me. I see noone wants to take responsibility and actually back the issue, just insult me blindly for raising said issue?

 

Also, I had the name "Tyler Durden put porn in films" ingame, and I was frozen, THEN warned. Would any admin like to take responsibility? Because you sure as hell didn't ingame.

So... you're saying you just named it Project Mayhem because it "sounds cool". I thought so. Things like this make me infuriated. You people don't put an ounce of thought into ANY action you do.

 

Um. Remember how he spliced single frames of pronography into family films? "So right when the snooty cat and the courageous dog with the celebrity voices meet for the first time in act for, that's when you'll see Tylers' work in action".

 

Also, at the end of the movie a rooster was flashed, in case you missed it. I think thats the cinemagraphic equivalent of porn sprays, thank you.

 

You don't make rules that are anal retentive (not an insult, look it up in freudian psychology if you don't know what it means) and then give it a name like "Project Mayhem", which was a more extreme case of fightclub made when the main character developed a jones to fight club (remember the night he hospitalized the blonde guy, when he wanted to destroy something beautiful?) a server name for a VERY conservative server, when the man who created Fight Club and Project Myahem fell in love with someone who said such things as "I haven't been fxcked like that since grade school."

 

Don't be hypocrites, find a new server name, as you're a walking joke with the current one. However much of a "coolness factor" you derive off of it.

I'm not an admin, nor a forum mod, but I can tell you that we aren't really big on the swearing or the porn part of CS. In fact, we go out of our way to root it out on the servers. GC is a place to play well, but also to play cooperatively, and with comradery.

 

"Anally retentive" is a term I am all too familliar with, as I am entirely meticulous in my thought, and my speech, to name just a few aspects.

 

If you were making a scene out of the server rules, you were probably singled out because the mods had been dealing with it all-day at that point, and regardless the rationalization which you may try to intellectualize right now, we've heard it all before. Really.

Just wanted to add another thought, here:

 

You ask me to look up 'anally retentive' to make sure that I'm on the same page with your intellect... ...but you're trying to rationalize the actions of a coalition of swearing/porn-free servers, based on a film - a good film, but a film, nonetheless.

 

Oh, and I loved the fact that the film ended with "Where is my Mind?". Frank Black/Black Francis is a truely underrated songwriter, and The Pixies were way ahead of their time...

 

...but I find myself asking this same question right now, debating this subject.

2. I have no problem with that. I play on lots of similar servers. I'm just saying stop being hypocrites and calling your server something that its utterly NOT representational of.

Your words, not mine. "whipping out quips" was my response in prose. It is assumed that you already know of that which I am quipping.

 

2. Fatty's the one to talk to about the server name. I suggest respectfully mentioning it, next time. He's got a sense of humour, but his patience wanes.

 

3. 'Anal' / 'Anally' is a point of English propriety. There is no correct answer there, as our language is so irreconsilably messed up. "We are all totally anal retentive." works only technically - however there are many aspects of English, which must be embraced, if only by a select few.

 

4. And that's definitely not the way to go about protecting the rights of your film, when in the depths of the lion's den...

I will not be polite when something I care about is the object of sacriledge. You gave up your rights to polite treatment when you shoved your hare-brained hypocrisy in my face.

 

I wanted an open argument, all I'm getting is a flame war. Grow up dude, we're not splitting atoms here, its a name, and a name that in and of itself is not vulgar or offensive in any way. There is a big difference between the name of the server and porn sprays and little punks telling you to F off every 5 seconds and telling where they like to be sucked. Can you see the difference yet?

 

Youre probably one of those retards that dont want kids to pray in school cuz it might offend non reliigious types, or one of the people that would write letters to get someone like Howard Stern off the radio instead of just turning the channel.

 

People like you irritate me beyond belief, and I sincerely hope that you go away and forget our servers exist. (The servers that WE pay for by the way, and invite people like you to play for free)
