Brillow_Head September 14, 2005 Share Brillow_Head Member September 14, 2005 (edited) I'm getting a cold. Mildly sore throat, dry sinus cavities, a bit worn out. Can I still do cardio this week? I dont want to lose my progress just cause I've got the sniffles. Edited September 14, 2005 by Brillow_Head

They of course are crazy but it took my mind off of it. lol
Brillow_Head September 14, 2005 Author Share Brillow_Head Member September 14, 2005 Yeah, looking back...one guy got...something nasty. Fever, absolutely no voice (and I mean nothing), completely stuffed and runny, worn out, shakey and weak. He panzied out for a few days....and then the rest of the flight came down with it about 2 or 3 guys at a time. I got hit at about week 3.5 of our 6 week training. The callisthetics was okay to deal with...reduced performance of course. Running tho...oh my...that hurt. When everything from the back of your throat up to your nose cavity is dry and burning with every breath you take....talk about torture.
Fatty September 15, 2005 Share Fatty GC Founder September 15, 2005 Keep working out, just get a couple extra hours of sleep / night instead of your usual minimal. Wear a stocking hat to bed.
duma September 15, 2005 Share duma Member September 15, 2005 Actually, a light workout when you are sick will help you get better. Just take it easy, and if you feel really bad, stop and get some rest.
Ak0Mg0 September 15, 2005 Share Ak0Mg0 Member September 15, 2005 Wear a stocking hat to bed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am so going to do that this winter when I get sick. (Always a matter of when. I work in a casino where everyone can smoke inside all they want ) Something so simple that I couldn't figure out. Go figure, hehe. However, back on tipoic, I was at an ROTC military camp back when I was in HS and came down with a fever. Had to get up at 4:30 and PT, so I know what it is like. GO ahead and do cardio, but don't push yourself too hard. Cut down the distance/time you run/spin/whatever and drink alot more fluids. If it gets harder to work out than usual, then stop, even if you barley started. Better to lose a wee bit of progress (if you lose any) than to oush yourself too hard and hurt something. Hope ya feel better!
Brillow_Head September 15, 2005 Author Share Brillow_Head Member September 15, 2005 Well, I did normal cardio and lifting. It didn't hurt as much as the day prior. I also took Fatty's advice and went to bed a tad earlier than normal (no cap tho). I had really wierd dreams that kept me awake at random points in the night (which normally happens when I'm sick). However I woke up more rested than I have been in a while. I should be able to stick to the routine. Thx for the input.
