stutters December 22, 2005 Share stutters GC Alumni December 22, 2005 my buddy has two 16x dual layer sata dvdr's, a subscription to netflix, and a buttload of "backed up" movies. i dunno if there's a lot of thoroughput gain on going sata. his reasoning for sata though is having dedicated channels to do simultaneous burning. he's got 4 sata channels, so 2 hd's, 2 dvdr's. Cujo December 22, 2005 Share Cujo Member December 22, 2005 no performance benefit to going sata but a cabling benefit plus you can disable your ides and never think about them again. plextor is the best of the best for dvd-rw drives. i'm debating that one or the slot loading one. each one is sexy in it's own way.
