Penty January 31, 2006 Share Penty Member January 31, 2006 I'm upgrading my home network; I'm looking at a DI-624 router and a DGS-1008D switch. Anyone have experience with either piece?
Flitterkill January 31, 2006 Share Flitterkill GC Board Member January 31, 2006 I think I have the 624 - must upgrade firmware to latest once you get it - earlier revisions had sporatic reboot problems (as in randomly rebooting it self) New firmware fixes it - works plenty fine Cheap here: http://www.buy.com/retail/searchresults.as...t=home&dclksa=1 -Fk

J. Dunlavy February 2, 2006 Share J. Dunlavy Member February 2, 2006 I've had problems with two D-Link routers at work. I much prefer the Cisco-backed Linksys. Linksys routers are feature packed and more professional, and don't cost more than $10 over the D-Links. At home, I'm running both my ethernet LAN and my 802.11b off of a Linksys. Penty February 2, 2006 Author Share Penty Member February 2, 2006 My only problem with Linksys is the reports on the noise level of the switch.

Cujo February 3, 2006 Share Cujo Member February 3, 2006 i love my dlink dgl 4300. if you're looking at the 624 then bump up to it. same wireless but with gigabit lan and gamefuel packet prioritization.
