So Who likes Japanese Music? music

Anyone else a fan of JPop and/or JRock and other Japanese music?

 

Some of my favorite artists include: Hamasaki Ayumi, Hitomi Furuya, Luna Sea, Yoko Kanno, Namie Amuro, Utada Hikaru, Gackt, and more.

The only japanese band I can tell you straight up I like is Mono. Awesome chill-lax type stuff. But you seem to be in the know. So for j-pop/rock are there any songs from those groups you mentioned or other that would sell the genre more? Cos Im curious.

I used to live in Japan. I was stationed there for 4 years and I loved it. I met Amuro Namie in person cause my japanese gf at the time works for the record company that she has a contract with. I used to listen to her music. I listened to Globe, TRL, Yellow Monkey. Although I don't understand half of what they are singing, I think they make pretty good music.. melody wise

I've heard some Japanese music, but I hard a difficult time enjoying it...because I couldn't understand what they were saying.

I like the occasional Japanese music... even though I don't understand it (like a couple words I know).

For me it's not so much understanding the words (since I only knew a few myself) but really just the sound of the music and the words. It's fun to sing when i've got a Romanji translation handy. (Plus my girlfriend likes it lol)
