Bruce Frickin' Willis

I came of age with Bruce Willis and Die Hard and some of his other excellent action flicks (yes, I'm a fan...I even liked Last Man Standing and his duel 1911s).

Tears of the Sun will feature Willis as a Navy SEAL sent into Nigeria on a rescue mission. His team takes on the local militia while escorting a VIP and refugees to safety. This movie should be excellent and I even saw a silenced USP in the trailer linked...

here, baby, here!

I didn't spot any 1911s in the SEALS hands (Ts have 'em), but it looks like we should be able to watch an excellent version of CS ported over to celluloid March 7!

Maybe some community servers should get a couple of VIP maps put into the lineup?!

I love the VIP maps...come to our server sometime and we will load one up. Just have to have people who want to play them or you end up with an idiot VIP running around with an empty pistol and a knife.

Travolta sucks... hes makes crap after crap. Sammy J made Pulp fiction awesome.. not Travolta...  <_<

There must be some confusion, young Padawan learner. Bruce Willis is freakin' awesome. Travolta is a relic. Pulp Fiction was a bright spot in a career that burned out in the 70s.

Willis, however, is going hunting this Friday at a theater near you. It is a VIP mission, judging by the previews, the server must be huge and team balance must be off, because it looks like there will be about 15 CT and a couple hundred T.

I CANNOT WAIT!!!

I have to say that movie "BASIC" looks like it will be a good movie. I didn't think so either until I saw the extensive preview last night. Looks real good.

went to see it at lunch at the first matinee. After I saw Raven's post, I said to myself there was no way I wasn't going to see this movie as soon as it was released in Lafayette.

Worth it!

Plenty of Mark 23 action (with silencer) but only the bad guys used 1911s. SEALs are the only American SF teams to have spent the money to acquire many copies of the SOCOM pistol so that was cool anyway. Great action, decent story, but I wanted to shoot the Italian hottie doctor. Especially when she still had lipstick on after a couple of days on the trail and still complaining, crying, and beggin.

The only message I got from the movie was, it's worth wearing your armor. What message you talking about ZD? I'm still pumped from the action.

I guess i see things that others do not catch. There seemed to be an underlying political message there. Remember the quote at the end of the movie about how evil triumphs when good does nothing? It seemed to me like it was aimed at those who do not want to do anything in Iraq. The evil was the genocide and those partaking in it. The good were us willing to sacrifice for the good of those who wanted to be free. It was basically an ethnic cleansing of those who were christian. The movie had lots of disturbing parts as far as I am concerned. But the underlying theme was powerful as far as I am concerned.

OH yeah, I didn't think that was a message or underlying...that's what the whole plot is about. Willis' character realizing the moral imperative behind the use of force. The whole movie is a statement about and tribute to those who not only protect freedom for pacifists and everyone else, but also secure it for those who cannot overcome all of the obstacles preventing them from achieving freedom.

It's a good movie, it's a savage world, and it's a great thing we've got going here in the States.

Pulp Fiction

Grease

Face/Off

Phenomenon

Swordfish

At least, I'd pay to see them in the theaters. I'm not into Scientology or anything, but I thought that Battlefield Earth was a pretty cool story with lots of meaning and messages. I'd also pay to see it.

Battlefield Earth was a good movie, and I am reading the book now and it is one of the best sci-fi books I have ever read. Awesome book.
