Mustard's CoffeeMaker June 3, 2006 Author Share Mustard's CoffeeMaker Member June 3, 2006 Y'all hush now! I'm not going to even try to hide my accent, I'm proud of it. But keep pickin' on me, I like it. It makes me laugh. I tried to type that out like I would pronounce all the words, but can't think of how to express all of the vowel sounds. I don't sound like a backwoods hick....more like Paula Deen. Well, maybe not quite that thick.... When did this turn into a discussion about my southern drawl? Mustard's CoffeeMaker June 3, 2006 Author Share Mustard's CoffeeMaker Member June 3, 2006 Oh, Lord no! I know how to enunciate. "Dem" and "dat dere" is hickish. I'd say it more like, " thee-um" and "thaih-ut theh-ii-arr". But not broken into syllables like the dashes imply. It might be hard to wrap your mind around it if you've never heard the difference. Mustard's CoffeeMaker June 3, 2006 Author Share Mustard's CoffeeMaker Member June 3, 2006 (edited) I'm telling you- there's a difference between redneck and a southern drawl. Don't confuse them. JC "y'all've" is a good try, but grammatically impossible. Also it implies too many syllables. Y'allv- one syllable. It looks funny, but there it is.
