lostoften August 11, 2006 Share lostoften Member August 11, 2006 Tried playin some cs tonight after work and wasn't able to connect. Kept getting an error saying unable to validate my steam ticket or something of the sort. This happened several times so I exited to reboot. When I exited Steam shortcuts deleated themselves off of my desktop and in the start menu. After finding the correct files, I restarted. Logged back on and still ran into the same error. Anyone ever had this occur? Thanks, Lost
Shazz August 11, 2006 Share Shazz Member August 11, 2006 I would try deleting the contents of your cache folder within counter strike. I have had wierd things happen like this...and deleting the junk in cache fixes it. Don't worry about those files in cache though, whenever you join a server it will fix itself. C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\*your steam name here *\counter-strike source\cstrike\cache
TheGeek August 11, 2006 Share TheGeek Member August 11, 2006 ROFL!! When that happened to me it said that I didnt have anything installed and it started downloading CS and HL2 all over again. I dont think I have ever screamed so loud. Just delete the cache, then restart. Mine went away after that.

TheGeek August 11, 2006 Share TheGeek Member August 11, 2006 Deleted and still not working Reinstall CS:S Sometimes steam rapes you. All you can do is just reinstall and wait for it to happen all over again.
Lunk August 11, 2006 Share Lunk Member August 11, 2006 Find your clientregistry.blob file and delete it. Then restart CS:S. This may fix it. I would try this before re-installing.
