discom August 23, 2006 Share discom Member August 23, 2006 Everytime i start up css, it always changes my resolution to 640x480. It gets really annoying because i have to keep changing it back, and many times changing it back causes my comp to crash. There is nothing in my autoexec.cfg about resolution, and i deleted my config.cfg and it keeps going back to 640x480. Any help would be appreciated. and another thing.. does anyone know the console command to make shadows high quality?
wayfarer August 23, 2006 Share wayfarer Member August 23, 2006 If your resolution keeps going back and your having periodic shutdowns, I'm gonna venture a guess you have a GPU thats not handling the load. What have you got?

Ice_Berge_00 August 24, 2006 Share Ice_Berge_00 GC Alumni August 24, 2006 is your config.cfg read only? If it is and it has 648x480 in it then your res will always reset to that at game load. This is of course assuming your config.cfg is working like it should. The res should be specified somewhere there.
