Walmart has a Release Date ut3

Unreal Tournament 2007 PC preorder up on Walmart.com for release 01/05/2007 at $49.82.

 

May just be speculation on Walmart's part but this is the 1st I have seen it from a major store. There have always been small online stores have been throughing up preorders with wildly differing release dates.

I found that a few weeks ago too - if you look around, a lot of places are throwing up release dates for preorders - don't mean nuthin (unfortunately)

This xmas will be a Gears of War xmas - A whole new ip launch so I doubt Epic will want to distract from that until after the new year - they may also be shooting for piggy-backing thier marketing on the Spring consumer release of Vista (not that we need Vista or DX10 to play UT2K7) - provided Vista doesn't slip - The first real indication of anything shaking out is when we hear that vid card manufacturers (ATI, Nvidia) get thier hands on the U3 core engine bits so as to optimize drivers - this will happen *before* we get the demo - so - once that word leaks out (and it will of course) we'll know we're just about to the release.
